Not necessarily true. Cash cost money to keep meaning that cash gains little to zero interest right? Banks pay what less than 1%. If you can get a 0% interest rate then you would be a fool not to borrow the money, if anything it’ll build your credit for sure. Now in the case of the GTR, 0% is out of the question but if you can get 5% then I saw go for it, move the cash into an investment and get 7-8% and your loan costs nothing, see? Using banks properly and intelligently is a great thing.

If you are a home owner and have equity borrow the cash from the home on a HELOC. The interest is in the 3’s or 2’s depending on the equity, you can right off the interest, and the payment is based upon 30 years Vs 5.

Just blowing cash is almost completely ignorant because you can get multiple uses on your dollar like a bank does.

Buy a house, they haven't been this depressed since the Great Depression. They go up in value, it lowers your car insurance, you can borrow on them, they will eventually go up in value since you are buying at the bottom, get your own garage for you GTR when you purchase it down the rod, can roll over all and current depts into the mort and pay a much lower rate and then write it off as you don't include payments on a home as it is a necessity (immagine if you had to pay tax on the purchase of a home) property taxes further lower your taxable income and if you have a buddy rent him a room to offset your property taxes and then some.

Can you tell what I do for a living

I believe what people refer to when they state that a GTR is not a DD isn't based on the vehicle itself, but the service increments and cost of service can be severe if you rack up the mileage.... so the cost of ownership is something to consider on top of the cost of the vehicle.... so when you vehile is under warranty it may no be so bad, but after.....

Again, breaks alone $7,000. Factor tires, oil changes, any engine work is a nightmare. I love the car but it costs a LOT to run.

Yeah, replacing your tires every year is probably ~2g alone...or pretty close.
If you were smart you wouldn't use factory brake replacement its going to have a higher mark up than aftermarket for something extremely similar to whats already on the vehicle. Brembo supplies all those parts OE...

but my point is if you search for the service manual it also has additional service checks tacked on to that, and if you don't have a warranty anymore you have to pay for all those checks (of course we are thinking you won't/can't do it yourself) and I'm sure yearly its going to add up...

^^ I drive hard and I see no problem with the GTR had the car for awhile already and service is almost nothing at nissan but then again I don't really use my brakes I only use them slightly and my tires have been holding up like a charm better than my evo ever would. I use to change and service the evo more than the GTR so it's actually cheaper to own the GTR by far. Just my .02 cent.

I'll go with the old saying, "if you have to ask the price/costs, you can't afford it."
