I personally would sell 1 evo and buy a nice reliable comfortable DD and save the fun times for the evo. You will enjoy the evo much more only driving it seldomly.

There is a guy in town that sold both of his BMW's for a GT-R, and so it is now his DD. In all honesty, I would not want to DD a GT-R. It makes the weekends a lot less exciting.

Yea, why would a car guy buy a brand new world class machine, when the same car can be purchased used by a kid with no appreciation or skill for its capabilities, but who loves the street cred. You've got a point there.

As for the OP, who the fruck knows? We all have our own preferences that should have no impact on a decision made by another party behind a screen. Personally, I could see myself with two Evos, though not likely, but there's no way I'd buy a GTR, so I say don't sell the Evos. Does that really make a difference?

i'm guessing you didn't read the entire thread where the guy has stated a bunch of times he has a DD...

once again, it depends on your wants and needs.... they all change.

Never thought id get rid of my evo cuz I had a ton invested however the more i sat back and looked at it, the appearance of it was nothing special... a 4 door box with a big turbo and a nice motor.

it was fun while it lasted but now I am looking at a used NSX.... There is just something very sexy about the NSX and the fact its MRWD is just awesome!

If you are not having as much fun with your evo's as you once were, then make the plunge, you only live once.

If owning a GTR would be a possibility for me, I would do it... They sound sexy, they have great power... its just more of a grown up car, lol.

will i have another evo, you bet ya, but it would probably be more of just a dd while having either an nsx or something else on the side..

good luck with your choice

All cars are and can be unreliable once you take them to a point. There is a enough evidence on this forum to prove that...

Best advice would be to spend some time on the GTR forum to see how real life issues are with that car.

Talk to some shops such as AMS or others that are working very closely with the GTR.

Find Sharkbite on here, he had the most beautiful evo I think I have ever seen and he know owns a GTR and it sounds like he loves it.

you have to know on any specific forum they will lean very heavy to your original car.

the GTR would only be a weekend car rarely. im only put 6k on my MR in 4yrs of ownership and lately im working so much that i took it out 8 times all year. im leaning towards keeping the evos and seeing what the fp red on my white evo does for me. i would never get a vette. i got offered a 2005 z06 supercharged with 606rwhp with 17k on car and 500 miles on mods. the guys having twins so needs to sell asap. i declined because the second i let go od my MR ill never find one as mint ever again.

im not going to beat a dead horse, everyone here has pretty much said all that needs to be said. your money, your life. only you know whether you can afford the upkeep, the payments, if youll enjoy the luxury or miss the manual tranny (dont give me that crap about paddle shifting), if you will mod it or track it or void the warranty. thats all up to you, not all of us random guys behind a computer jealous you can afford a gtr.

two things stuck out in my mind from your post:

1) If someone offered me almost 30k for a 7 year old car that ive enjoyed, I would sell it immediately (unless youve wrenched on it or track it or w.e.) Bottom line thats close to retail 7 years later.

2) If your concerned about what people think because you have two evos or too many cars, then your in for a rude awakening when people see you traded them in and got a 70k Nissan at 21.

Disclaimer: I dont know you nor your situation. For all I know you worked your a$$ off and enjoy automobiles. Personally I would buy what I want and not care what other people think, bc they dont know me. Just like we dont know you.....

either way, gl on the decision hope you enjoy whichever route you choose to take.

Carlos, with all due respect. a stock GTR with a novice driver can blow away just about any Corvette on the track. I know cause I did it. First time at a high speed autocross (black hawk farms) with the GTR. First time at the track. I started with the novice group. At the end of the day the only cars that were faster than me were the "R" class cars. R = Racing. zo6's, 550hp Mustangs, & Vipers could not keep up. Also, I had one of the experienced guys drive my car and he pulled in with a time 2sec faster than me.

My car is bone stock..... It just shows how well balanced the GTR is.

I also went to the Winged Warrior event the first year of ownership and took home the class A championship. That event is about a well balanced car. And thats what the GTR is well balanced. Yes, I defeated lots of modified cars in Class A.

Take it from someone with experience. This car is badass. PS, I still have a full warranty.

A GT-R is the only car I would consider owning other than my Evo... different beast, and the maintenance costs are insane, but its powerful, attractive, and easily modded if you have the $$$.

a gtr is definitely a nice car but i would rather spend $35k on a supra, put 20k into it and keep the remainder than buy a stock gtr for more money. I say keep the 05, sell the 03 and integra and start supra build

Cost of maintenance is what scares me from the GTR.

I can't think of another car as fun to drive with 4 doors and has the power potential as the Evo....for the price.

I would own another Evo but the wife bought a STi........so those are our 2 fun cars.

i loveeee the gtr but i would be kinda weary on this. ur two evos are driver cars, manual, and u put a whole in to them. the gtr kinda almost drives itself, although it is an *** load of fun and id love to get one one day. it all comes down to ur feelings though. wat everyone else says doesnt really matter. just my .02

Cool story bro!

this thread is worthless. just some kid trying to make everyone jealous.

do what you want with your cars. its not like we would influence your decision.

IF you get a GTR then share it with us.
