Z06 is pure power though, and if you don't launch it right vs. a close car, you never know.

You are correct in that the Vette had a horrible launch, too much wheel spin even when it hit second, but once that Vette had its legs under it there was no contest. At the end of the video the Vette was eating that M3 for lunch and leaving it for dead. I like both of those cars a lot, but the Vette has some outrageous torque and hp. I raced a Z06 from a first gear roll (not the way to do it in an Evo) and actually was running neck and neck up to the top of third, but once I hit forth he just started to walk. When I laid over on the top end he was just starting to run, no contest and it pissed me off. Maybe 23 lbs of boost, HKS cams and some computer work will help, but seeing as our cars are all wheel drive and have roughly the same coefficient of drag as a brick, according to MP5, the Evo is never going to be a high end acceleration killer.

 

I race a Z06 on Christmas day on Scottsdale road, I had him for
about a second because he just lit them up! Once he gain traction he completly destroyed me. He was a cool dude though, when I pulled up next to him at the next light he gave me the thumbs up and said "cool car".

My buddy raced a Z06 on the highway a couple of weeks ago and ran neck and neck with him to about 140 before letting off due to approaching traffic. His car seems to have a killer top end too. It's a 1994 twin turbo 300zx stage 3+(whatever the + means). I'm starting to like those cars alot after being around a few that same night.
