I just got a new job and I'm going to be selling my X soon, so I'm looking to move on to another car, probably in March or so of next year. I've got a few cars in mind, and I've been doing a lot of research, but I wanted to hear what you guys have to say. One of my favorite things about this forum is the lack of bias when it comes to discussing other cars. Having said that, here's what I'm thinking about so far:

2013 Boss 302: This one is at the top of my list. I want to wait for the 2013 since it will have the track apps, sync, and HID's. I've hated Mustangs all my life, but Ford finally built one that I'd love to own.

C6 Z06: I'd almost buy this car for the engine alone. All the reviews I've read say that this car has great performance potential, but is not very forgiving. One of the things I like most about my X is the "I can do no wrong" feeling it gives me with its handling. I like to be able to push my cars without worrying about them biting me in the ***.

Porsche Cayman S: I've read a million words about how great this car is to drive. It's definitely down on power, but I'm not really much into drag racing anymore, so I really don't think that will be an issue for me. My favorite car I've ever owned was an S2000.

Scion FR-S: This one is a bit iffy for me. 200hp is soooo slow, but if the car is as fun to drive as everyone says it is, I would have plenty of money left over to make it faster.

I'm also open to any suggestions you guys might have. The only thing I don't really want is a four door.

I would have to vote for a nice R34 that is already converted to U.S. specifications from here:

C6 ZO6 is the best performing of the list you gave by far. However the evo in my garage will whoop %95 of the Z06s around a track, So its kinda ironic dont you think...

exactly, if you aren't getting everything out of your car, there really isn't a point in upgrading.

your just kinda compensating for lack of driving skill. (assuming, best == fastest on track)

I really can't say which one I like the most yet because I haven't driven any of those three. I went to a Ford dealership yesterday, and I think I would have had to have given them my jimmy as collateral for them to let me test drive the Boss. Getting to test drive a Cayman and a Z06 should be a lot easier since they will be used. The only things I worry about with the Z06 and the Porsche are the maintenance costs.

Boss 302- Fast for the money but I would try to find a similar model used because once you drive it off you lose like 6gs

Z06- Its a corvette. Fast but Extremely unforgiving.

Porsche- The thing will rape your wallet for mainenence

Scion-Its a scion.....NO

If I was a brand snob, I wouldn't be driving a Mitsubishi, and I wouldn't be considering a Ford or Chevrolet.

Yeah, if I get a Porsche I definitely want it to come with a warranty.

Scion has 200 hp.... THats the reason I said no.... THe interior is nice but too slow imo.

I hate to say it because im not a muscle car guy but I think I would have to go with a newer mustang...

2013 Boss caught my eye as well. Ford did a good job with that car. I would like to test drive one one day.

C6 Z06 i have one and one of the best cars ever made. To me they are forgiving and very fast for stock. Mine is Bone stock and occasionally ill pull out the exhaust fuse out to make it louder. The Z06 is a very fun car to drive!

Porsche cayman to me kinda seems like a girl car to be honest. And not to mention the costs on it will be out the roof.

Just my 02 cents, but I would recommend you chose between the Z06 or the Boss GL!

Depends on what you are looking to do with it.

Daily driver? Track? Weekends only?

I really don't like the Corvette but the Z06 is so much oomph for $$$. Almost impossible to beat.

I like small nimble cars so a Lotus Exige S would be great but for track and weekends.

You can have loads of power with V8 coupes but they are becoming soooooooo heavy and are losing the connected, lightness feel I would look for and want.

The Cayman R would be perfect but a bit overpriced. Light, mid engined and fun. Great sound.

Go test a few and DRIVE THEM back to back, best way to chose.

I want a GT3 next
