The merc may have more power but it comes down to can it plant the power down with a good suspension setup and give the driver more confidence to push the car even harder
Don't know about in the states but here a comparable M3 runs close to $100k. As I said earlier, as a track car the M3 still has the advantage. But I don't know about you, I drive on the street a hell of a lot more than the track and this C63 will put a bigger smile on my face 90% of the time.

It's not cheaper than the non-Black Series C63, option for option.

But if you're talking about the C63 Black Series, then yes, but there isn't really a Black Series competitor from BMW that is available globally (or at least in the major markets). There was an M3 GTS (not available in the US) that has 450 hp and 325 lb-ft that also had a pricetag that, when translated directly into US dollars, was also a six-figure amount. But even that car's numbers weren't very impressive against the base C63, though I bet it probably handled better given its upgrades, but again, it's not even close to being the regular model.

I wouldn't really base a $75k car decision on track worthiness since I wouldn't track it.

Based solely on looks alone I'd take a C63 AMG over an M3.

Well like all AMGs you could always pick it up in a couple years for around 20k used.

They know, it's because it's based on the moniker of a classic Mercedes, the 300SEL 6.3:

The capacities were close enough to the point where they felt like they could revive the designation. As a side note, Jay Leno has the original one and dropped the AMG 6.2-liter into it

Just wait one or two years when the doctor who has it gets tired of it and it will drop ~25 grand in value.

I definitely think it looks and sounds better then an M3. I have to stop and watch the commercial with the sound turned up each time it comes on - the one where the sedan has its back doors ripped off to turn it into a coupe.

Having been in both the C63 and M3, I would personally prefer the C63 as a daily driver. Lots of torque everywhere and generally a very fun car to drive. Also, the top end pull in the C63 is very nice.

It's funny that you say that, because those owners are definitely out there. Not that it's the same car, but my boss just picked up a lightly used 2011 BMW 550i in perfect condition, inside and out. The sticker was $80k, but the original owner (an engineer who bought it for his wife who thought it was too fast) sold it to my boss for $62k several weeks ago.

I agree. Even though the M3 still has more than 1000 extra rpm over the C63, but the C63 is still pretty exciting up top, which is well-known considering the reviews from various publications but still pretty incredible considering how big it is (in terms of displacement).

AMGs just like regular Mercs and all high end cars do take a bigass hit in depreciation right off the bat, but just from my research, it seems that they then level out and the depreciation slows right down.

Depreciation?!
Just check out what a 1 year old Aston Martin is worth or a Rolls LMFAO ! poor bastards

but I guess they can afford it
