Question Indiglo Guage Trouble

Sorry guys, i actually dont drive a lancer, but im in search of some general help here, so i headed over to a forum where people actually respond to stuff.

Anyway, i have a 94 Jetta which i grabbed some indiglo guages for, but i have a bit of a problem: there is no hole in the guage face for the peg designed to stop the needles.

Now, it would have been fine for me to just snap off the pegs because all the needles stop on their own, except (for some reason) the speedometer needle doesnt stop.

What i want to know is if the indiglo guages will still work properly if i just poke a small (like pin sized) hole in them?

TIA!

edit: here, these are the guages i have just so you know the type i am speaking of http://209.87.151.155/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=EGVW9399

I assume they're just a sheet of plastic, so poking a hold in them should be fine I guess. However, it's your money, your call. Good Luck

you will get a black spot once you turn it on at night, that is where there the speedo stop would be. I would just cut the stop. If you are that serious in changing to an indiglo gauge, cutting the stop would be okay? better yet get a factory indiglo if they make one.

Well, i just cut the peg and it seems to work fine.

Actually, we had them working just fine but after i put my dash back together for some reason they stopped. even after redoing all the connections they wouldnt glow. Im gonna check again to see if there is anything loose, who knows...
At least they still read, they just dont glow. Grrrr... stupid dashboard gremlins!
