His previous ride was this bad fella: BIG cam, full exhaust and intake made about 430whp and ran a best of 11.9 at 118 with a 1.7 60ft. .He'd always wanted a Z though, and he finally found one 100% bone stock with only a few thousand miles on it for an absolute steal that some older guy owned, so he threw his GTO back to stock in a matter of 2 days and traded it in.

New whipsiedoodle! In a few weeks time, he's done semigloss black powdercoated stock wheels with 335 NT05's, ZR1 lip, black emblem overlays, 5% tint on all windows with 35% on the windshield. His best time so far at the track has been 11.6 at 124 with a 1.9 or possibly even a 2.0 60 ft. His goal is to get a 10 second pass 100% stock, with the exception of the 345 ET Street radials he has in his garage to help get him there.

You guys done any roll racing yet? At an abandoned airstrip I assume.

 

I loved the GTO haha it was clean, comfortable, and his was tastefully done. I dont like them otherwise really tho, too bulbous and FAT! Naw we havent done any roll racing against each other, I make quite a bit more power than he does so we know what'd happen. One of our friends has a supercharged Z06 making about 615whp, that'd be a better run for me though I still have a pretty big power advantage over that and Im lighter too.

 

Damn, looks just like my brothers car. He got his for a steal too with only a couple thousand miles because it was some rich guys toy that sat in a showroom all it's life. We just added the overlays to the emblems as well and tinted the fog lights (Not in picture).

I'm his detailer and this car spends 98% of its time in my garage. I HATE black on black as far as detailing is concerned, but man it is pretty to look at.

 

Those cars are pure sex. I wish I could fit in them, I wouldn't have had to settle for a C5.

 

He'll have to be a hell of a shifter with optimal weather/altitude conditions to run 10's stock. 10.7x is the record IIRC.

My buddy has a stock+cams that runs 10.1s and he's an incredible driver. He's let others drive his car and they run 10.4s.

A buddy of mine just picked up an '07 Z06, bone stock with 2,200 miles in the Le Mans Blue color, SUPER clean, and he wouldn't drive it the other day because there were some suspicious clouds in the sky, lol....he finally took it out of its cage and let me drive it - holy hell that thing is fast! I've never driven a car with so much low down torque, and it's weird to hit 60-70 mph in 1st! Almost makes the sense of speed feel false since I normally am hitting 3rd in my MR by the time I'm at the top of 1st in that car, haha.

Anyhow, I'm hoping to do a photo shoot with that car in the next few days and I'll post 'em up here.

Just out of curiousity - what is considered a "good deal" for a C6 Z06? I think he paid around 50 for it, but I dunno, and I'm not sure if that's a great deal.

 

When I was looking at them this past spring, I was seeing 'good deals' for around $40k. That was with ~30k miles on them. God I wish I could have fit in one, but my head touched the ceiling, and that was without a helmet on. I settled for a modded C5Z, but I still have C6 envy.

 

I want a c6 Z06... it might be my next car. Im about done with the Evo, as sad as it may sound. How tall/ big are you? Im about 5'11 215.... how will i fit?
