Corvette better than Evo?
I know what the response is going to be here almost invariably.
Corvette is teh sux!!!111!!ONE!1
Evo Rules!!

Leave it to the assheads to give a car a bad name. Hell, it happens to everybody.
In the asshead's defense though, technically a turbocharger IS a type of supercharger.

Bah he raced a normal Lancer or he was just bored and made up this story. Every Evo owner know there is a turbo in there car, due to the fact that you gotta watch mitsu video when you purchase the car.**** they even have a test at the end of it
Ive raced a Z06 and it beat me while I was stock , he even had a good launch but mine was better and I kept up with his $50k *** all the way to shutdown 105. He was about 3-4 cars ahead and I dont consider that getting smoked. And the majority of those guys on that forum couldnt find there own hand in the dark. But dont get me wrong the Z06 is an awesome car.

I have a serious reservation about all these corvette owners bragging about fuel economy. First off, I think most American manufacturers overestimate their city/highway mileage (I hate to generalize/stereotype but my girlfriend's 02 focus which is BABIED only pulls low 20s combined cycle-- should be 31 or so!)... I have swapped my EVO for a friend's Z06 on several occassions including a weekend excursion to Maine and I was never able to muster more than 23 MPG even on the highway (comparable to my EVO where 25 has even been pulled). This was in 6th gear at low RPMs simple highway driving. I won't even tell you how I fared at home in the NY Metro area. Can we say 13-15??

As far as straightline performance goes, the Vette does 0-60 mph in 4.3 secs and 0-100 mph in 9.9 secs, compared to 0-60 mph in ~4.6 secs and 0-100 mph in 12.9 secs for the Evo VIII (I found all of these numbers using Google, so I can only assume that they are close to accurate). Now, at 100 mph three seconds equates to 134m (440ft) between the cars, which is a pretty good distance. Everything comes down to the driver, though, so it wouldn't surprise me if an Evo managed to stay with a Z06 until 100 or beyond if the Evo was well driven and the Z06 was not. Given equal drivers, though, the Z06 would win (and should, considering it costs $15k+ more and has a more than 100hp advantage over the Evo) and this is nothing to be surprised about. Just the fact that a $30,000 Evo can be compared to the $50,000 Z06 says something about the Evo's superb stock performance. The C6 Z06 will be a different beast altogether...
hardly anyone brings up the price difference between the two...
the corvette's a badass car... but how many evo drivers that bought the evo cuz the evo's in their price range can afford a z06?
in the end who cares.. there's always more fast out there. if i had to put money on it, i'd say the kid's story was BS... but whatever... vette will beat an evo anyway

Last weekend at the track...Before my BuschurFlash...
I went road racing with NASA today HPDE class 4 in Glendale AZ I passed every M3 (7 from intake/exhaust mods to lowered and strutted) every STI/WRX (2) every Porsche (2/914-6s 2/944 Turbos a couple of 911's and a 911R and a completely tracked out 944 turbo with racing rubber/full cage and stripped interior. Now the 2 vette z06s... If I started in front of the "stocker" I could put time on him if I was behind he couldn't get away but I couldn't pass him (to fast on the straights... main straight =125 on the rev limiter in my EVO) The z06 with 40K in mods and hoosier track rubber could put about 2 car lengths in a 1.4mile lap (but I would catch him everytime we hit traffic ;-) ). Every one of the German and American Iron drivers wanted to know "what the hell have you done to that motor" I just loved telling them $3,000.00 in BOLT_ON mods from buschur racing they were amazed (half didn't believe me and wanted to know who built the race motor/which cams/cam gears HKS-Jun-works etc!)every one of those disbelivers made me open the hood so the could see for themselves.... and then just walked away shaking their heads thinking 35K 4 door sedan/rice rocket/fat/gray/46yo driver with a stock motor, stock suspension, rear sway bar and bolt ons just passed my expensive track day car?( I'm thinking THANK YOU DAVID TYM JEROD and everyone else at Buschur Racing that I don't know, Vivid Racing for the sway bar, grounding kit, SS breaklines, fuel rail, battery relocate kit and the toyo's Dan, Rob, Mike and Shane). The rest of the guys on EvoM may just think you guys just build drag racing parts.... I know much better now.
How much for the flash? Or using my car for the 91 CA-**** stage 4 flashes= swap? I'm not clear here (and I've already paid Al for a tune @ his SOCALEVO tune event after I heard you guys were hooking up.)
PS I took out the IC sprayer because you don't need it with your FMIC (and I didn't want the extra 20 lbs in the front end) no loss in power/ drop in laptimes over each 20 minute session! Water temp rock solid too (dropping the top of the IC very smart more cool air to the radiator).
One very satisfied Customer!!!!!!
News flash I installed cams &Al installed my BuschurFlash and I picked up 70 hp. Those Z06s will have nothing for me next time

its the same as the srt-4/evo battle....u pay more, etc etc
why don't u see as many 'young punk kids' in C4 vettes? they cost like 6-8k to get one, almost wut you pay for a 2g GSX. "Insurance". 'Nuff said
if insurance wasn't a concern...i think i'd take the new c6 that is gonna be at the 600+hp mark
lol

You need to get out more.
Don't waste time making conclusions based on YOUR experience.
