Or if you could find a Galant VR-4, those are pretty dope as well. Basically the Evo's Grandfather equipped with the same 4G63 (although a bit primitive by comparison), 4 doors, trunk & all. And it might be worth you while to look into that Celica as well.

Funny old school video, but gets the point across:

A lot of Cobra guys say things like this, but how many do it? I personally have seen at least 3 different Terminators blow their motors with less than that. Someone I know personally just put a 2.8 on his Cobra and blew it at just over 600whp. It's amazing the amount of power they can put down, but a lot of them are strung out. So bolting on a bunch of power will not end well.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still searching around with cash in hand. One of my buddies might be selling his 04 wrx so maybe I'll see what I can workout with him. Still would rather not get into a Subie but at least I know it was maintained.

Yeah I believe the stock block is rated around 600whp. So it would be stringing it out past that. I'm around 475whp with just pulley, cai, x-pipe and catback. Can't complain about that power. Still can get the stock eaton ported and get some more horses.

Well I'll just chime in since I used to own a 99 GSX. Theyre fairly reliable and parts are everywhere. I would steer clear of the 3/s TT or a gvr4 just because in time parts will be impossible to find.

My 99gsx while it was stock... was pretty reliable besides o2 sensors going out all the time. I drove mine to 188k miles on stock clutch.. I still talk to the guy I ended up selling the GSX to and he told me he was at 225k still stock clutch and running very good.

My gsx was maintained very well and had over 2inch folder worth of maintence recipets etc.. definately dont go out and buy a POS, unless that is what your looking for. Perhaps save for another EVO?

i've heard the same as well. the old gst and gsx eclipse, were cars that always needed more and more work. if you dont mind that then jump on one.

as for the 3000gt vr4 i heard they are awesome cars, but also a pita of a project.

see if you can find a vr4 galant, their rare but i hear they are great cars.

Or no one has mentions a mitsu starion yet??? i had a friend who had one, and it was fast as ****.

whatever you do good luck

use to be into DSMs for a long time and those cars were a PITA..yes they are easy and very cheap to make power BUT the vehicles themselves are just horrible. The engine is stout BUT thats it ( no need for proof there), the tcase is tiny and tend to break with 350whp, have you ever compared the beefy Evo t-case vs DSM? look it up. The chassis itslef is very weak and if not spend thousands of dollars to upgrade everything, and i mean everything then the ride will always be horrible, no matter how expensive the coilovers and sway bars are. Most of the people don't even bother auto crossing them, every one likes to drag race them, especially the 1g's. I had a 1998 Talon AWD (last one i had, rare for that year since it was last year Eagle was made, especially in AWD turbo) with very low mileage and every damn thing rattled inside and squeeked. Never driven in winter and it still started to form rust in rear quarter panels. Those cars were kick *** for that 90's area but were not design to last long, very poor quality and finish.

I say steer away from DSMs unless you want headaches, if you want awd DD car get something else, if you want a kick *** grocery getter AWD look in my sig
