Been an amazing 5 years, but time to move on

I sold my evo a few weeks ago. It was a 2006 Lancer Evolution IX with 46k miles on it. I got the car when I was 16 and have had it for the past 5 years. All I can say is it's been amazing 5 years. When I first bought the evo I only bought it after watching the Fast and the Furious movies...sadly. But, this forum helped cultivate me into the car enthusiast I am today. I've learned so much about the Evo through evom and I just want to say thank you to everyone.

Now I'm a sophomore in college and I really wanted to get into a different car. Something a little more grown up and not so boy racer. I've been looking at all cars that intrest me. Some of these cars include: GT-R, E92 m3, F10 M5, anything from AMG, 997 GT3, and a few other cars. I was really contempt with just waiting till I graduate to get a car, but in the end I couldn't live without a fast car since I do enjoy driving a lot.

That's when it happened. I myself thought I would end up with a GT-R... but I kinda went on the opposite end of the spectrum. I watched a ton of videos and read a ton of reviews on the cls63 AMG and I was in love. It's not a GT-R or even a Evo, but it was everything that I wanted. Fast forward to yesterday I got in contact with a dealer in Chicago and it so happend he had the exact CLS63 AMG I wanted. White with the p31 package. So we put a deposit on it and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow.

Goal with the car isn't anything crazy. Full exhaust, intakes, coilovers, and tune.

I will post pics tomorrow at the dealership and when it gets home. I'll still frequent this site as well as mbworld. But my goal is to one day by another evo and turn it into a track car.

I just want to say thanks to evom

Posts like these tick me off.

You are a Sophomore in college; you are not buying any of these cars yourself so please don't act like you are. Moving on to a more expensive vehicle that your parents are buying does not count as growing up.

If you want to get technical. It is actually my money. I'm using the money from the trust that was set up to me to buy this car.

You mad bro?

If you had the option of something being given to you, would you just turn it down? People like you make me sick. HURR DURR stuff like "this kid had an opportunity to work at his dad's company instead of working at McDonalds or whatever like the rest of the kids". If you have an opportunity, you take it by the *****. Why work up from the bottom when you have a way in the middle?

Oh his boyfriend is here.

Who said anything about me saying I wouldn't accept a car if it was given to me. It's the way he words his post, like he is some investment banker thinking about which car he should buy next. Other than the fact that he was born into a family who has the ability to give out their kids, or grandchildren, or great grandchildren trust funds, he has had zero impact on buying this new car.

Work up from the bottom? This car will not do anything for his career.

And yes I'm sure his daddy will hand him a job after he graduates 3 years late from college with a communications degree.

Where to begin...your making it sound like I'm going to some community college where all I do is drink and party. And you assume my life is handed to me on a silver spoon where I don't have to try hard and I get a job out of college from my "daddy". Your on the opposite end of the spectrum. I'm not some dead beat communications major. I'm a business major at one of the top business schools in the US.

Thanks man. Much appreciated. But the car doesn't have to be a student car. I have a apartment with a garage and I don't drive to school so it will be all protected!

Not going to lie. Your jealously is eradicating all over this thread. The whole you think you know me thing is getting old. Maybe your the one with a communications major who graduated when he was 28 and now works at starbucks.

I'm honestly not jealous. It's just the way you worded the post that pissed me off.

For your information I'm 22, graduated magna *** laude with an EE degree, have a good job, and drive an evo so I'm not hurting.

But I'm done arguing because I don't feel like ending up with infractions

This is not going to work for a business degree, which means almost nothing.

If you are making the claim that Kentucky is a particularly good school, I laugh.

If you go for the fancy Mercedes looking for jobs out of college, people will assume that mommy and daddy put you up. Also, where are you planning to go to get your MBA?
