ordered a CAMARO 1LE
Well ordered a 13 Camaro 1LE on Friday. I have been looking for my next daily and HPDE day car and came up with this car. It ran VIR at 2.58 in stock trim, 08Evo MR does it in 3.13 to put it into perspective in bone stock trim. Not sure I will like as I have never had a chevy with the exception of a Silverado in my whole life. I will drive it stock for a while then add a turbonetics kit to it but time will tell as I want to get familar with it first.

Congrats with the order. I know when I preordered my Berger ss in 2000 it took about 8 weeks. You will love this car I have friends who work at the proving grounds who get to drive these and others and they say the car is just sick.

The ZL1 also has an extra 234lbs and 82hp/78lbs tq less than the GT500. If you have that much of an advantage, you should win every track comparison handily, the Ford doesn't. The CJ's have been out since '08, the COPO's just started this year, can't really compare when the CJ racers have a 5 year tuning head start. It basically comes down to preference, they are both bad *** and have endless possibilities.

Totally wrong, Ford is way better than Chevy especially current models.
Also Subaru as a company is in a different league than Mitsu.
Mitsu makes some of the ****tiest cars on the road.

One of many quotes from numerous GT500 vs ZL1 comparisons:
While the Mustang was a half-second faster around the track than the ZL1 on its best lap, it couldn't repeat the performance. By the end of the first lap, the brakes had already begun to heat up so badly, we could smell them from the pits as the car passed by on the front straight. By the end of the second lap, the Shelby had lost more than half of its advantage over the ZL1, turning a 1:39.03. By the third lap, the Mustang was behind the Camaro, turning a 1:39.30. The ZL1, meanwhile, never deviated by more than two-tenths of a second.
I said what I wanted, this has gotten way off topic at this point. To the OP good luck with your new Camaro and post pics when you get it!

No excuse, facts. The GT500 should kill the Camaro in comparisons with its advantages but it doesn't, if you want an inferior vehicle go ahead and buy one.

Most reviews I've seen lend credit to the Camaro's brakes and the suspension (the one pulled from the flagship Corvette that is so good that it is licensed to Ferrari ). The Camaro is "better" based on these two things alone. If Ford is to give the GT500 some real suspension and dial in the brakes (simply changing the compound a little might go a long way), then I foresee very different outcomes. Objectively speaking, the GT500 is faster. It just needs to do it more consistently.
For now, yes, the Camaro is the better car around the road course according to bench racing. It is also the car more likely to be driven by a 16 year old girl and a middle-aged woman.
And I agree with other posts: Subaru>>>>Mitsubishi.
