OP, why an old GT4088? what are your power goals?
+1 on the 4088... those turbo's are the WORST! they lag like crazy and an HTA35r will make more power. send it to FP and see if they can turn it into something worth a damn! like an HTA3794R that turbo can make 900whp and you wont kill it. and even if your goals arent that high, it will love life at 600. then as you improve the parts to hold more power all you have to do is turn it up and the turbo will be there!

Fantastic conjecture. Considering all the posts around here that bestow such brilliance, I think some other posts are frontrunners long before this one.

Who can forget such gems such as:

"Which Evo should I get: 9 or X?"
"How much horsepower should I be making?"
"Can I put an Eclipse engine/drivetrain into an Evo?"
And many more examples floating around the forums right now!

So, either our definitions of the word dumb are slightly different, or you and Still*Boostn have a little too much sand in the vaginal area.

why are unmolested stock cars sought-after? because people want a clean car to start modifying. To say it makes you sick to see someone modify a clean, stock supra is baffling... these cars are made to be modified... I don't know many people that look for a clean stock car just to keep it stock and drive around

went with a 4088r because i hear the spool is still under 4k and makes around 500-550 on pump gas and around 700 on race gas which is all im going to ever need in the supra

I feel the bottom line to this debate is that indeed it is cool to have a completely stock next to brand new car BUT a supra is most definitely not that car. The supra was born and bred to produce stupidly obscene copious and outrageous amount of power. It is one of the only cars you will hear the owner say "Yeah, it only has 800hp"... 1,000 or bust with those babies!

Haha this is true, i did want to stay near stock but with all the mandatory maintenance i had to do i might as well do what i am doing now. So many seals were shot from the car sitting all those years.
