mclaren or evo? whats faster
i read in motor magazine (or could have been wheels) it was an older issue. an english cpompany took an evo VII and upgraded it to the max it was so fast (nos free) that it beat a McLaren GTR's street time. if any of you know any sites of references tot his email me at skankhater69@hotmail.com. thnx
it's impossible V12 vs L4 (no matter if you have 4 turbos) not in this life, not in the afterlife, the top end of the McLaren will never be matched, but on road coarse

All it takes is tuning expertise, parts and lots and lots of money. Last year I saw a VW bug set the all motor world record at 10.6 sec in the quarter mile at Maple Grove, PA.
Not bad for a cute little car!

lol i thought this was gonna be another newbie thread.. but it sounds interesting! anyone have theese results from the norris evo?
(of course the mcLaren is faster with no question) Mc Laren is just in ANOTHER league.. and no affordable car should be mentioned in the same breath.. IMO lol

Very possible. Anything that can make over 600Whp (Modified Evo on Race Gas) w/ minimal interior specs and a pro-tuned suspension is going to be tough. McClaren was still designed for the street and its suspension was tuned to minimize the chance of ameuteur drivers squirreling them. Put enough turns in and alot of street/race vehicles would beat the McLaren. On the other hand... over 120mph its a different story.
I think the record he's talking about is the 0-100-0 in 11 some seconds barrier. It's possible with a car with enough get up and go, and a killer braking system.
However, the McLaren held that record for a long, long time for a production car. I think the Koenigsegg (sp?) broke it though.

i saw in a car mag that the McLaren was only like mid 13's in the 1/4 mi....which i couldn't believe...but than again this car is a road car not a drag car..
anyways it'd be cool to see an Evo/McLaren duel it out, throw in a Ferrari, Viper and we got all the goodies
