Evo X to 2013 GT500?
Close option, but for some reason the new styling of the Camaro in general is kinda blah to me. The seats are poo. However it dominates the GT500 in the twisties. I'm also at the point I would like a car I can just hop in and drive with a powertrain warranty... I would hate to get a ZL1 with the plans of immediately doing things to it so it makes more power.
Sooo, I've been thinking about picking one of these up and parting with the evo.
Pros-
Awesome power - with a warranty(pending I keep my hands off of it)
Plenty of dealers and local aftermarket support - Redneck TN
Bang for your buck (I wish I could look at a GT-R but that isn't an option)
Still fun to drive even though handling isn't even close to the Evo.
Cons-
Price (even though a good deal for what you get)
Rear seat is useless
Truck isn't great
RWD
Closest option I would consider - CTS-V Wagon 6 speed manual - but impossible to find and still not near a quick as the Shelby in a straight line... however the cool factor is up there. Plus it's super practical. Hmmm
Thinking about parting with the Evo for a few reasons - one of the biggest issues is lack of support/awd dyno in middle TN. It sucks there isn't a good shop in the area. Plus I don't have as much spare time as I used to, so it limits my tinkering time on my car. Plus who knows how long mitsu will survive in the USA - just saying.

. I've done 1600.00 worth of upgrades ( 2.4 upper pulley, JLT carbon fiber 127mm intake, VMP tune with sct tuner, and ford racing TB) and dynoed 697rwhp and 684rwtq. Best time so far was a 10.92 at 136 with a 1.89 60 foot on the crappy goodyears that came on it. I still love the Evo though and you WILL MISS it come winter time and you barely tap on the accelerator in the Shelby and go nowhere but sideways. Both are fun, but you can't compare the two because both were build for different purposes. Keep both if you can, I traded my 11 Evo for the 13 Shelby and ended up buying a 13 Evo because I missed it.

I'm not sure what you have been reading but the 2013 GT500 beats the Evo in every category on a dry surface. These two cars are not even in the same territory! I should know I own both

Could I do both? Perhaps if I bought a cheap beater instead of a nice DD. I would just hate to rack up miles on the GT500. IDK... hmmm. You get a good deal on your GT500? I was hoping to get a good deal on one as the 2014's are out. I looked at one that stickered for 67k and was marked down to 61,9xx... but it sold. There is one '13 left in the area. Everyone else has a '14 in their inventory.

They aren't announcing it. But the dealer I went to knocked off 8-9% off MSRP. That unit has since sold. There is only one other 2013 in the area and they seem to be more firm even though '14s are out. Sounds like the one I looked at Spaz... everything but heated seats and glass roof.
