Before i get into this, I'm sorry if i'm posting this in the wrong section. I only just came across this site today and i thought it might be a good idea to post up a couple of questions iv had on my mind about my car.

So first things first i drive a Mitsubishi Galant GLS. Its production year was 2000 and the engine is a 2.0 Liter 4G63. Iv had the thought of tuning this car for a little while now but i am not too sure if its worth the time/money/effort. I currently don't know anything about car engines and tuning, but i'm willing to start learning and am pretty keen on even doing courses on automotive to get into it.

Now when i say tuning i'm thinking of changing the timing, aftermarket ECU, changing the headers, fuel pumps, radiator, headers, pretty much anything to support a aftermarket turbo and i'm even thinking about changing the layout from FWD to AWD.

I wanted to get other peoples opinions, and ESPECIALLY the opinions of people who know their stuff. I don't want to start on something like this if its going to end up being a ignorant waste of time.

SO basically long question short - Is a Mitsubishi Galant 2.0 Liter GLS station wagon any good for tuning/aftermarket modifications with its stock 4G63 engine or am i better off investing in something else and starting from that?
