Question Deciding between Evo and R32

Hopefully I will be able to get a new 30k car in a month. I went to VW today and really liked the R32. The fit, finish and materials were way better throughout. Plue I dont have to worry about several issues evos have (clutch, transmission, warrentee prob, rust, etc.) It's a really tough choice. I have been an evo nut for a few years now and have posted here since before it got so crowded

Any advice would be apreciated. Thanx guys

Welcome back!

Honestly Im in the same boat as you but with a different car. I really like the Evo but a few of those same things annoy me. (I currently am getting more and more pissed off at Mitsu service departments, and this is my main issue) My other car choice though is the STI. Since I wont be buying a new car before next December, I am not faced with the short timetable you are looking at. My gut feeling says go with the R32, but honestly how can you go wrong with either car?

I'll suggest the following.
Test drive Evo
Test drive R32
Test drive STi

I think that sould do in making your decision.
Golf definitely has way nicer interior than the other 2.

yea see what your gut instincts say, cause usually that choice is the choice u won't regret.

but test drive each one and see what you like the best. all those cars are great cars! good luck choosing!!

I asked about it and you pretty much have to have approved credit and price negotiated before they will let you test drive it. That could take many hours. I understand though since I wouldn't want mine to have been test driven at all.

all tese three cars have their own problems.

EVO clutch
STI ping on the engine, engine faliure( happend with many many owners) there service is just as cheap as the evo ask my friend with his STI

R32 the slowest, nice and different. I love it but i hate the lack of the power. problems we dont know yet so if you want to be the gunie pig go a head and buy an R32. dont get me wrong i am buying one but next year once i know what kinda problems the car has.

I can only base my service woes off midwest dealers, but I know the Subie service departments around here embrace aftermarket stuff, especially if it has a Prodrive logo on it...(lol)

Honestly though I was just generalizing from my own experiences, I guess when it comes down to it no service department is really your friend.

As far as STI engine failure, unless people were rocking larger turbos or other ill-advised add-ons, this trait is new to me and my few months at Nasioc.....

Im glad to have the decision but it is one to sleep on.

Anyone heard good/bad about HPA motorsports. They have some nice turbo upgrades and a cheap suspension solution
