Is it bad that I...? (***Pics***)
Right now I drive a 2010 Lancer Ralliart, but I used to own a 2006 350Z so I can add some insight. If you want all the looks and thumbs up while driving the Z is gonna get that. I had numerous people stop and take pictures of my Z when I owned it.
To clarify things, my Z was Daytona Blue, slammed, had a ton of carbon fiber, and deep dish 19" wheels. The Z is not as fast as most people assume and every part for that car was quite expensive if you went with quality. I loved my Z, but only in the Summer months. Winter was a joke!! Even trying to get out of my driveway was a pain in the ***. I was running a good amount of negative camber so I wore my tires out in the back pretty quickly so once it rained I wasnt having a good time. I was also about an 1 1/2" off the ground so going over speed bumps, potholes, curbs wasnt really happening. I absolutely loved driving that car though (when it was warm and dry) and it was loud so I smiled every time I started it up.
As for the Ralliart right now, its black, 18" black wheels, a ton of carbon fiber (that looks black on a black car), not so slammed, but its AWD w/ a turbo. My Ralliart is way faster than my Z was but Im nowhere near stock. I get looks from people but just not everywhere I go as I did in my Z. The Ralliart is amazing in all weather conditons but I am running Blizzaks in the winter for way better traction (goes through anything). I like driving this car but even with the speed it just doesnt compared to how much fun the Z was. Parts for the Ralliart arent cheap but there are a ton available and still better priced than Z parts.
To Sum things up if you want speed, all weather driving, and to carry more than two people the Ralliart or Evo is the way to go. If you want a summer car thats not super fast but a blast to drive you and one other person around go with the Z. If I had to choose I wouldnt go back to my Z unless it was just my weekend car and I could own both the Z and Ralliart.

It really depends on what kind of driving you want to do, how many people you want to drive around, etc.
I love both Zs and Evos but I went with an Evo because I knew my wife and I would be having kids soon. Also, we live in western Washington and that requires a car that will handle in the rain and occasionally in the snow.
I have a friend who has owned every body style of the M3, and he loves and swears by them, but he is so happy to now be in an Audi and feel confident on the road when it is raining out. He also loves having four doors; as a "taxi" driver for his friends, he was always sick of pulling his seat forward to get people in and out of his M3s.
You have a great looking Z, I suggest finding a Mitsubishi dealership and asking if they'll let you test drive an Evo, so you can see the differences. Only you know what will be perfect for your situation!

Yeah, the Z is fun, but I really miss awd. I loved my Stealth.
I'm a Nissan guy and I say Evo, I was never really too fond of the 350Z, the VQ engine kind of sounds obnoxious. Plus 4 seats are better than 2 even if they are just there for looks (S13 guy right here =P). I've rode in a base 350Z and it was alright, if I wanted a 2 seater I would have gotten an MR2.
I got a chance to drive a 12 second Evo and a 11 second STI (I know this is a terrible comparison) but they both handled like they were on rails and their AWD acceleration was very direct and non squirrely like RWDs.

Get rid of that 350Z, the motors are crap the transmissions are crap and there slow even in "twin turbo" form. There crap can cars made for Americans and constantly tweaked through out the years to not be as crappy as the previous year. I had an Altima SE-R and it ran like a Rabid Ape masterbating while flinging feaces on school children. That lasted for about a month. I beat bolt on evo 8's(9.8 turbos with a crappy tune) stock STI's and camaro SS (the F bodys) and (Seriously I did) then the timing chain started making noise and 2 grand later I sold the car. The Motors run decent when attached to a transmission with proper gearing but if you want something that is QUICK, easy to work on and cheap to modify (I use this term loosely) get an EVO.
