And I have seen a GTR do that a few times.

 

Right because they are AWD after all. The only thing I can think of is the fact that that non-Nismo GTR doesn't perform as well as the Z06 based on the test results I have seen. It's just a big jump from AWD to RWD when you are at 600 hp.

 

Z06>GTR. If you haven't "seen any z's beating twin turbo lambos" look again. The fastest GTR in the world is WELL behind the fastest z06. Anything you can accomplish in that GTR you can do even better in the vette. Here's where the no replacement for displacement song comes in to play. Lighter weight more power potential and is one of the best track platforms. Vettes have some of the best top end, also.

 

You have NO idea what you are talking about. AMS alpha omega GTR is a 7 second car. There is not a c7 z06 anywhere near that. Z06 may be lighter and better "suited" for the track, but not anywhere close to as fast.

I'd take a Zo7 over a GTR any day of the week and twice on Sundays!
I like GTR's but I'm more of a Chevy fan than a Nissan fan and no matter how much better a GTR is, there is just something about a sound of a V-8.
I'm not really sure a Z06 does 2.96, that may what Chevy claims, but I have yet to see a review that says it does(maybe with slicks or something), but a fast car nonetheless. Enjoy it, be careful with it!!!!!

 

When I say Z06/ZR1 I am not only referring to the c7. The c7 is new give it a little time. The c6 is well beyond the gtr. 7 second 1/4 mile with over 2,000whp. Big deal. There's DSM's in the 6's with a lot less power than that. If going fast in the strip with a car is your thing, the vette is better. Bigger engine(by a lot). Lighter weight.

Immediately reminds me of when I sold my DSM and bought a Supra (a million years ago). I was so tired of breaking parts...axles, diffs, t-cases, killing clutches...not forgetting to mention lack of torque. I never looked back. Congrats on the purchase and beautiful color choice.

 

 

I would say stock v stock Z06>GTR. Once you open your wallets to mods its really just a battle of who spends more.

 

^for one lap maybe... then the Z06 overheats with its tiny supercharger and both speed and fun factor goes out the window...

 

nice car! i like pretty much any car in white, other than Ferrari. and OEM power > built power any day. i was barely over 400whp and started having to deal with issues that sucked the fun right out of my car. LOL. OEM for lyfe. haha


all the GTRs that run these records are pretty much RWD anyway. may as well be a corvette. if you are going to drag race a car, i'm not sure why you would start with a heavy, AWD car with a v6 anyway, other than to prove you can do it. then again, i don't understand the point of high HP drag Evos, but that's another discussion.

i have a heat map of a Z06 that shows the temps that it reaches during track operation. it's nuts. i'll post it as soon as photobucket approves it. they should have kept it N/A, IMO.
