ok, here's the deal.. my friend thinks his saturn can beat my lancer. i'm kind of hesitant because his saturn is twin cam and my lancer is a sohc.. he has 4 more horsepower supposedly. his car is a 93 i think and has roughly 30000mi. on it and is a 4door. my lancer has about 3000 and i put on intake and exhaust. i really dont want to lose to this kid but i'm starting to think his car might beat my lancer from the power. any comments..

i would not bet money on it, your most likely gonna lose 5 bucks. I know 2 people with saturns. one is a 97 auto with just an intake, and it beats me. i know thats not saying alot but then theres this other saturn that has only an intake too vbut its a manual. i think its either a 93 or 94. but anyways he beat a 98 civic si and a probe GT. but if you do race good luck

 

well maybe if you usually drive hard, that "automatic memory" might kick in and switch gears in the latter rpm. wasn't there something about the auto lancers adjust to the way you drive?

and so if we figure that the saturn's auto changes gears conservatively, you might have a better chance.... maybe?

drop tire pressure in the front to increase the contact patch, decrease weight by removing **** from your trunk and back seat, then pray for a win.

i don't understand why you would drag with autos? there's no skill envolved. i've beaten atleast 3 twin cams with my lancer 1 of which was before any mods. i killed them on the launch (experience and skill) then of course the twin cam saturn is gonna kill you, he ran me down once we were doing like 60mph.
