135i?

I've been thinking of getting a 135i. Currently have a evo 9 rs with fuel mods, intercooler piping, exhaust and tune. Best time is a 12.2. I don't really want something slower. Just wondering if anyone has a 135i or had one and what opinions are on it. If I were to get one, what would it take for a 12.2 or quicker on 93? Drag racing isn't the main goal, just don't want anything slower.

Stock 135i will feel more peppy driving around town, but will feel slower when getting into it. If you mod the 135i, it can be faster all around. A tune and exhaust will add a fair amount of power. I've heard some stories of so-so reliability of those motors.

I had a N54 335i for a while and they're pretty solid cars. I made 410/440 on pump gas with full bolt on modifications. Low to mid twelves will not be an issue with a good driver. Unfortunately all non "M" cars come with an open differential so getting a good 60' can be a tricky

We build an intercooler, charge pipe and intake for the 135i/335i as well.

Good luck!

Michael

My roomate has a 335xi with the N54 engine. With just the Cobb, intakes, and downpipes, the car moves out and makes some nice torque.
The engine was reliable up until recently when his thermostat got stuck closed (and had a couple injectors replaced under warranty a while back).
I would say a 135i with a Cobb, intake, exhaust, and a tune will be about as fast as your Evo 9 RS.

I heard about the BMW 135i, but never gave it any serious thought until I witnessed this:

I went home and google searched the price on it and was shocked for the second time! Quite a bit more than an Evo. Cool car though.

You are correct. Watching that made me see if there was a poor man's version of that car which is the 135i.
