Which new (to me) car to compliment the Evo?
My good friend just purchased one(2003). I love it. With bolt ons (intake, ported throttle body, long tubes, and exhaust) and street tune, the car moves out nicely. The shop estimated the car at 380ish whp. It is quite a bit more comfortable than my 04 RS
. The seats are comfy, but don't hold you in that great. The brakes and suspension have been doing great on some mild canyon cruises. The heads up display is soo awesome! I wish it was easier to get in and out of though, that is the part that would kill it for a DD for me, just because I have a messed up lower back.
Idk about an e46 m3 as a dd just because of the cost of repairs(vanos, cooling system, subframe) and mpg(since your commute is 100miles). But if you can afford the repairs and the mpg, get one!
I dd my e39 and that gets about 22mpg with mixed driving. I was thinking of selling that and getting a new dd. And here was my list: s2000,240sx,350z,g35/g37, rsx, civic si ep3, miata,

Looking at 2008+ c6 vettes now. I pretty much considered every single car you have on that list lol. I really like the looks of the g37.
I paid cash for a 2000 Civic. Awesome gas mileage, reliable as all heck, and lots of money left for the evo. It's pretty much the antithesis of the Evo. No getting in trouble, no tickets, no thieves, etc.
😆
I don't care what I daily, as long as it's practical and reliable.

I was thinking of getting a miata and got dissuaded by the initial purchase cost.
An E46 M3 is a cheap car now in the bay area. Commonplace to see them for 8-10k. However, I wouldn't buy them because compared to the other cars that are available in the same price range. It doesn't offer anything greater performance wise.
I was considering financing options for certain cars and the Fiesta ST would be wallet friendly. Been driving old cars and now I feel like getting a new car.

this. I have an 07 corolla, 11 rav4, and 13 mini cooper base. all 3 of which make the evo feel like it's got 100whp more than it actually does when I hop back in. plus, 87 octane ftw!

But you still have the Evo? If you can do two toys, I say go for it.
