Anyone ever own a biturbo S4?
I think after all the bull**** i've been through with my EVO (being stolen, transfer case, etc...) i am honestly considering trading it in for something else. I was thinking about a 01 or an 02 S4. I know the performance won't be the same but it is a pretty nice car in and out.
anyone have any experience owning/modding this car? if you can share your input i'd greatly appreciate it.
thanks,
joel

My roommate owns an S4, 2000, Silver. He doesn't have any mods on the car just because he really can't afford it. Plus he's got nearly 55000 miles on it, and rumor has it that if you pound on the car (autocross and such) you have to replace the turbos around 60000 miles. I figure he'll have to rebuild them around 100k to be honest.
The car is very nice outside and gorgeous inside. The red and white gauges are beautiful and all the interior lights are a matching red. There are buttons all over the place that control literally everything in the car. It's also a very fun car to autocross. All you have to do is mash on the gas, and mash on the brake, and the AWD drives for you. I'd say find one for sale local and take it for a drive. It's basically a luxury Evolution as far as speed and handling.

I recently sold my stage III S4 (2000). Let me warn you that if you own an S4 in New Jersey, you will most likely get it stolen. Mine was taken twice.
Recovered 3 days later with blown turbos, body damage, blown tranny, etc. There is no immobilzer in any of the S4 biturbos. As a matter of fact, the S4 was the only European car to make the top ten stolen cars in NJ.

My brother owns a 2001 S4, and all around it is a good car. The interior is very nice, i dont really like the exterior, cause a lot of Audis look exactly the same. Its pretty fast, i consider it more of an old man luxury cruiser. I have heard they are expensive to modify, plus they are heavy, 3800 pounds or something. It all depends on your personal taste. Myself, I would rather buy a car with cheap interior that performs well, but if your more into luxury cars that still perform the S4 is a great choice. Or just get an M3.
