you forgot a "neither" option.

Neither is particularly worth your money. The Scion xB is a cardboard box on wheels, and the MINI, while cool, is so small and so repair-prone that I doubt you'd be happy with it. You're also talking about a wide price range with those two cars.

If you're serious about getting a daily driver, try a Mazda 3.

 

Go with the Mini. Such cool little cars.

I would definitely get a used Cooper S.

well im thinking if you have to choose one or the other. and im talking about both automatic, not manual.

the mini cooper BASE msrp is about $17,000
the scion Xb's base msrp is about $15,000

 

I chose the scion because I fit in it and NOT in the cooper

if u love japanese cars. then you should luv scions as well hehee. i'm not sayn they are the best lookn cars. but they look aight i guess. if u hela big then go for it since its roomy and has good mpg

I'd go Cooper. But I'd get the S with the Works package.

 

Definitely cooper. We bought one for my wife. They were so fun to drive and easily park anywhere.
