Evo 9 or gt350
Back in 2004 at 18 years old i owned a evo 8 with ssl package and sold the car in 2011 with 177k miles..its 14 years later married and a kid on the way..i really love the new mustang especially the gt350 but I'm still in love with the evo and if were to purchase the evo it would be a 9 mr..i feel that the gt350 is more of a grown up car compared to 'racer boy' evo..i would like to hear some opinions on which car you think i should choose

Certainly, as you noted, the Mustang seems to have a more mature feel to it. The street cred of the Mustang may be higher in some circles, but as far as sports car athleticism, the nod goes to the EvO IMHO
If you met me or any one of us on a road circuit, the Mustang would have a very hard time keeping up. Cant beat that V8 exhaust note

I would get the mustang. Stock GT350 vs stock evo, or even a mostly stock Evo, the mustang is faster if you know how to drive it, even on a road course. With a family, I'm sure you don't have all the time in the world to be working on and tinkering with your toy, and would much prefer to just hop in and go.

Stock va stock I know the mustang is faster but on the turns i remember the evo was planted to the ground I live in Pa so the roads can be a bit windy..throw in 3-5k in mods the evo sure would be faster than the Shelby

I was talking about in the turns, I don't drag race. The new mustang chassis is very good. There is a guy I go to the track with a that has a 2016 GT; all it has is coilovers and tires, and he is faster than me (some of that is driver, but still). The GT350 makes it even better. And the GT350 comes with about 425-460whp depending on whose dyno it's on. They get to 500whp with bolts on (headers, intake, exhaust, tune). They're a lot faster than you think.
I'm sure the wife will much prefer riding in the GT350 over an Evo as well. The GT350 is a much nicer car.

With a kid on the way a 4 door (Evo) seems like the no-brainer here but you haven't said what your goals are or what your criteria is for a DD. Assuming you will be DD either one you go with, you will need to decide if you want something that has more comfort/amenities but less practicality (mustang) or if you are ok with a more raw, sporty feeling car with less comfort/amenities but more practicality (Evo).

No this won't be a dd it will def be a car I drive when it's nice out or not raining or snowing..if I were to get the mustang I would leave as is if it were evo I'd mod it

In that case I guess it just comes down to cost and how much you enjoy modding and tinkering on your cars? Evo will be cheaper and leave money in your pocket for modding but the mustang is great stock or minor bolt-ons. Test drive both and see what makes more sense to you.

They always seem to be making better and better mustangs. Mitsubishi isn't making evo's anymore, and it might never again be what it was when it was making evo's. In a way it feels like owning an evo is like owning a small part of motor sport history. Yah we can't get our hands on the earlier evo's yet, but still.

I have a family with two children and just got an Evo but this was my first one and i wanted one forever, since you had one already maybe you have scratched that itch already.
I used the excuse that it has 4 doors and can pick up groceries so the wife was ok with it (mostly)
