Toyota and Subaru confirmed that they're coming out with a 2nd gen BRZ/86 and rumor has it, it may be a turbocharged 2.4L https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...brz-confirmed/

Tell Razorlab to hold off on buying one till this is released. Looks interesting!

The number one complaint about this car was the lack of power. It actually frequently reviewed with pretty good handling. It's no surprise they would add more hp to it in the next generation.

Weird, I'd never heard that sentiment.

If they make it, I will figure out how to buy (and make parts) for it!

100% pure speculation at this point. Nothing confirmed.

Imagine selling an allegedly unreliable Evo, only to buy a car with a turbocharged Subaru engine...

Exactly, I ain't doing a turbo subaru engine, that is for sure. Whole reason I am going to a BRZ is simplicity.

I won't for the same reason I retracted my plan for a Camaro ZL1 1LE. Would cost me a fortune to track with track insurance + consumables.

Once the Evo is no longer a thing for me, I want to move to an actual racecar. Lotus 211, or a radical. No more trying to make a street car something that it isn't.

Unless you're trying to keep some semblance of street in the car (or making money selling parts) this really seems to be the right answer. Though I love the factory based cars over purpose built things. Something about it is just more interesting to me.

The problem is the shear amount of money you spend to bring a street car to true to track from. And then you could've spent half that on a used racecar, and the used racecar is probably also faster.

Yea that is a great idea but I see no tow-rig in my future so not really an option for me.

Something like a lotus or radical weighs so little; with an aluminum trailer you could tow it with a mid size SUV. The radicals for example are <1500lbs without driver... But I see your point.
