Tilton Evo rebirth

After a crash last year they built a new car. Evo 9 block, Mivec,ACD tcase and an EFR9280 at full tilt. Oh, and some nitrous to fatten up the mid range. They took what Mitsubishi engineered and made it better.

I'm still shocked at the simplicity of the Tilton Evo(s). When the competition is using fabricated A-arms, exotic suspensions and unlimited budget engines, Tilton has been using really simple setups - all stock rear arms, RaceFab stock-style front arms, and RaceFab subframes. They went with RaceFab rear arms on the latest iteration, but the whole setup is available from a catalog and isn't all one-off stuff. Considering the Hammerhead Porsche is now past $4 million in development, and even the middle time attack class racers now run billet blocks, I really admire the restraint that Tilton has taken with the car. The Evo is such a versatile platform, I still believe it's the best time attack chassis in the world.

Yup, I have always been a fan of this time attack team. It's great to know that they have off the shelf parts and those have been proven to be reliable in time attack.

I see why they explain why the Evo still has a stock block. It totally makes sense why they didn't attempt to go with a billet block because of the time constraint.

Those downforce numbers are incredible. Tuning the suspension (or bumpstops) on an aero car must be difficult.

It's very satisfying to see how simple, relatively speaking, they've kept the build. Stock block, live tuning on track instead of dyno time, off the shelf parts.
