This one has my attention over a P-car. Prices starting out around $85k. 2 engines and 3 trans to choose from. Typical Lotus styling which I have always loved, simple interior and I am sure its going to be a true drivers car. I can see myself getting rid of my Supra for one of these. What do you guys think about it so far?
hardest part for me is that I feel like I'd be missing out unless I got 2. there isn't a clear "this engine is better", both are awesome in their own way. I mean technically the AMG engine is better... but that V6 with their 6 into 1 header sound amazing, plus thats the one you can get with a manual... On the other hand that that AMG engine is easily the best (stock) 4 banger made yet, and with everyone swearing off ICE engines possible the best that will ever be made. so buy 2 of them
I love the Alfa 4C and I love the Cayman GT4. This car looks like it blended the looks of both, and is generally a mix of both in most regards. The supercharged V6 in the Exige & Evora was manic and had a big presence, while the 2.0 is a little firecracker (albeit detuned here). The Emira is the best-looking modern Lotus, and most Lotii drive a lot better than they look. It's not as light as the base models past, but it should still drive like a lightweight, lively car. It should retain its value very well considering what Exiges are doing, and considering it's the last ICE Lotus.
Make mine Magma on red interior, Black Pack, leather wheel, gloss black ultra lightweight wheels, red calipers, and the Sport suspension. Supercharged V6 with the manual, please.
Holy smokes that car is hot!!! Looks like a baby Ferrari or even like the Tesla Roadster. Might have to start saving up for this one. The wifey was asking the other day if I was ever gonna have a mid-life crisis...
I am really interested too, but I’m worried about horror stories about after-sale service from dealerships. With a brand new platform, you might really need them if there are any gremlins in the new design or teething issues. I sometimes think lack of dealer support is why the Evora depreciates more than Porsches. I’d be pretty happy with an Evora, but even more with this new car. Then again, for just a little more a 2017 NSX may be within reach soon.
Long as you stick with the v6 it's the same as the evora so shouldn't be that many first year problems. Altho if they made one with a retractable top i'd really have to think about it since i Just got a final edition exige.
