Picked up this lemon from NJ a couple of weeks ago. A 2022 Veloster N DCT with about 13k miles on it. The car was lemon'd by the previous owner for a CEL, which Hyundai fixed - and then bought the car back anyway to promote customer satisfaction. I've added a RSB and have been doing some maintenance and reliability stuff with it, and the plan is for it to replace my Sequoia (giving it to parents) which was a pain to drive in NYC anyway. I'll be auto-xing the car in the spring, but so far have been really enjoying it. A lot of fun, and reminds me of the Evo in a lot of ways. Only complaint so far is that 19s are too big, and while the wheels look awesome, it's inevitable that I'm gonna get a flat at some point. Planning to get 18s both for dailying and autox as well.
The form factor is great, the seats are awesome, the DCT is super quick and very responsive. Gonna be great for putting around town and for weekend fun. Great sounding exhaust, meh sounding engine but the car definitely pulls smoothly and quickly. Really happy with it so far!
Yep. It feels similar in a lot of ways. Has more creature comforts (like cruise lol). The 21+ came with upgraded bucket seats, more safety tech, and the performance package standard.
I'm too far removed from a stock evo to remember what it felt like, but I think stock for stock these cars would be similar. I didn't like how it turned at first so I put a 24mm WL rsb on the car, and the car feels pretty good now. DCT shifts super fast. It's nowhere near as fast as my current Evo, but I think this car could do pretty well at autox or track days in its respective class.
