Depends on what you want to do with it.

If you want a drift machine then the S14 is the way to go, you can either get a turbo for the stock KA engine, or do a complete SR20DET swap

The GSX, on the other hand, comes w/ a turbo stock and AWD and has a hell of alot of potential. This would make for a great 1320 drag machine if you dont mind buying new drivetrains once in a while

It's definitely a tough choice because both cars are great, but personally I would probably go for the S14 and make a project car out of it.

Either way, you cant go wrong with either car. Good luck

both cars are gonna have potential...but youre gonna spend money fixing them....

especially if you plan on "drifting" on the street

Yeah, it really depends on what you want out of the car.

The 240 can be made every bit as fast as the GSX on the strip, and obviously is the better choice for drifting. It gets my vote.

i say get GSX too many people doing S14 silvia conversions and ****! although there are a good amount of GSX's or bad *** rip a hole in your anus eclipses out there atleast they aren't getting played out like the Silvia's.

now...if you really want to go 240 then do something with it that no one does here! its getting on my nerves that people swap SR motors in their cars and think they are bad *** and cant even control the damn car around a hair pin. Notice my annoying attitude with SR swapped 240s? yeah there are too many jack asses in Southern Cali with SR swapped/ Silvia converted cars and they think they are bad *** in them and end up smashing into a wall in the canyons or over steer and end up smashing into a light post...dumb asses. better yet stick with the stock KA motor those things have good potential as well, its just not as flashy as the SR motor with the cool looking red/black valve cover that says SR20DET/intercooled bla bla bla...lol sorry just had to get it out.

anyway i know Greddy or TRUST has a KA turbo kit out now its performance potential isn't the same as an SR motor but hell atleast if you blow up your motor you'll have an abundance of replacement motors or parts all over the US...just getting a freakin MAFS for the SR is freakin expensive! broken sensors and what not would cost you mad $$$$ for an SR also and those things are expected to be either gone or broken when shipped here in the states unless you buy from a legit place or buy a front clip. The turbo kit puts the KA motor over 220hp and can still be upgradeable since i believe it uses a small T28 and more companies are coming out with pistons and such for the KA's...200 to the wheels is all you really need to get a good and easy drift going on the 240's...and no one tell me that the SR can easily go to 300+ hp with basic bolt ons...yes i know that...but seriously do you really need all that HP when drifting? on the streets? daily driving? you're no Taniguchi if you think you do.

don't forget about the dreaded crankwalk that was common with 2g dsm's, especially once people started modding them. the GSX has much more potential out of the box than the 240, but doing a sr20det swap will even the field much more.
