Trade the Lancer in for a Subi?

Ok here is the deal i was thinkin about trading in my car for a 2002 Subaru Impreza RS. The thing is it has 66,000 miles. But it costs about the same as what i payed for the Lancer used. So if anybody has some info on the RS, like horsepower numbers let me know, thanks.

Yea, the Subie 2.5 RS is pretty much a dawg when it comes to power. Not much better than the Lancer. However it has the same AWD as the WRX which means it can be made to handle pretty damn good. Not to mention you can find a WRX motor for pretty cheap and presto you have yourself a WRX.

I would ditch the lancer and get the Subie.

Uh Yea, it seams like alot more HP than a regular Lancer, but when you put it through an AWD system it wont feel like that much more power. Definitly more torquey, but if you lined them up side by side it would be a close match.

i love my 2.5 rs before i traded it in for the evo. I must say it was awesome for all weather and handling around turns and auto cross it hung in there, the power is not anything to brag about but if u have the chance swap it with a wrx motor and u now have the GC8 body style with power. the body is really solid. not as good as the wrx but hey its a great car no matter what. good luck have fun

Well the deal is off! It was all cool till i found out the car was a auto. The dork on the phone said it was a stick, but no. It is a really nice car and all but the Lancer is my first manual and i dont want another auto since i have a family suv. The Lancer is my fun car, which is what a guys car should be, ****n fun! Untill then i will search for a moderatly priced all wheel drive caro. And since this fell through, i proabaly wouldnt be able to get the car i just spotted. A Carolla SR5,boooya!

Okay a 2002 with 66,000 miles? Isnt that alot? Because my dad has a 98 altima and its about 50,000 miles. So stick with the lancer! Just upgrade it! I think it looks way better than that

get an STI turbo and there you go. engine is the same. 2.5L may be interchangable

I don't think you can drop an STi turbo in an RS and expect the same performance. For one thing, the compression ratios are different and thus, you can't boost at the same level as a WRX or STi. You can drop in an STi engine
