Comparable luxary car to Evo?

I have pretty much decided to sell off or trade in my Evo. I love the car, but my daily commute of 80+ miles is beginning to make me consider other options.

I am considering getting a 2001 CLK 430, M3 or S4. Anyone evo owners have experience with these cars?

The Benz is smoot, BMW is sporty, stay away from the Audi.

....Um I don't have experience withe the Benz but If getting new, I'd say M3 and used the s4.

the B5 (2000 to 2002) s4's are awesome (turbo!) and I'm seriously thinking of getting one (depending on what college I transfer to) but the new ones with their high price and lack of potential don't make sense when compared to the M3.

I have no idea why bulocal has against them. Care to elaborate Bulocal?

The early E46 M3s (2001s) were quite problematic, particularly with engine oil starvation. Something to think about. They've also managed to hold onto a high resale value. Lot of coin for a 3-4 year old car. The BiTurbo S4s were very nice. Not a big fan of MBs as sports cars; they're heavy and tend to be softly sprung and grossly underdamped (plush ride).

If you're looking into a commuter vehicle, have you considered the TL or G35? Both are very good cars which you can get new for what any of the above will cost used (obviously a drop in performance against the M3 or S4 BiTurbo). Or, if it's feasible, adding a cheap economy car (used Accord or something similar) for the commute, and keep the Evo for play?

In your situation, I think I would get a G35 coupe.

Road and Track tested all 3 of those cars. The CLK got 3rd, the BMW got 2nd, the Audi got 1st. I could give you some details if you want me 2. But I would get the g35 over all of those.

Road and Track also tested the Volvo S60r. They said it was the first Volvo actually fun to drive.

Shame the new EVO doesn't look like this. Infinitely more attractive.

Known in Europe as the "Executive Evo" because it offers more luxury. Looks are more adult as well.

So much for those who said, the "hood vents are necessary". Wrong.

Of course they aren't necessary, but underhood cooling via the heat extractor can't be a bad thing. Think of the Bauhaus edict- form follows function. In that sense, they can't be considred ugly. The GT-A is certainly great but I don't know how much cachet the Evo name has for people looking for a luxury lined pocket rocket. I think the S60R would be more appealing to US buyers in that segment.
