Modify a V6 Camaro extensively? The best way to mod one of those is to put a brick on the accelerator, jump out of the car, let it drive off a cliff, get the insurance money and buy an LS1 Z28. Screw a slow POS V6 Camaro with no mod potential.

What you should do is keep the Mazda and bag it. Put in a four link rear suspension and add airbags all around. If you don't do that get a 1995+ GSX. If your worried about crankwalk just get a 6 bolt and swap it in. 7 bolts are known for crankwalk.

1. The Camaro Z28 is hella fast and can be made faster relatively easily

2. DSMs are also quick and easy to modify to get lots of power, plus the AWDs are very quick out of the hole.

3. I just found myself a '92 MX5 with the 1.6L engine.... a real slow but fun car. You can mod the Miata relatively cheaply but you'll never get the power of the DSM or the Camaro.... It's all what you want. Oh yeah, buying any of them used saves a lot of money, however the Camaros and DSMs can be a real money pit and are not known for their reliability. The Miata is super reliable and will sell for nearly what I paid for it even years from now.....

The original poster was looking specifically at V6 camaros, not Z28s. The Z28 would have probably gotten a couple votes.

Yeah, my bad... I don't think the V6 can be made fast (as in really fast).
I guess DSM is the only choice from the two....
