Question Which would you choose for a...

daily driver that you'll be modifying extensively....

i can't decide between an 2g Turbo DSM or a Camaro(95 1/2-97 3.8v6).

i have loved Camaros since i was...able to see i guess.

but ive loved Eclipses for about 4 years now when i was driving my grandam and got whooped by one...i was alone (155 hp 180ftlbs torque) and this Eagle Talon beat me with a big guy driving and 2 mid teen kids and 2 littler kids in the back...i was like than after that i was like

so ive wanted a DSM for a while. im aware everyone has one, but i just want ur opinion, Camaro 3.8 V6 or 2g Turbo DSM?

or what else would u suggest that could be had for $3-6k?

reason...i had my truck running and its a 5spd and its fun but it died and its been a money pit trying to keep it running for mor ethan 3 days. and its a 5spd, lancer is auto...and i want a 5spd...so thats why

DSM all the way.

They are easily daily driveable and can be modded so inexpensively it's unbelieveable. There's a lot out there for them and they can be QUICK.

I agree on the 2G DSM....Goodluck finding a stock one in good shape with low miles though. They are getting rarer and rarer, especially stock.

yeah, id like a 97-98 DSM cuz that when they changed the front end a bit, and im a lil afraid of a 95 cuz of crankwalk but i'd take my chances if the deal was right.

well i work at autozone 730-4 and than work at the bowling center 7-midnight tomorrow...looong day lol. so ill check this thread again between jobs to see where its at and than sunday sometime. hopefully ill get some good advice.

DSM.

I always thought the greatest disservice GM ever did to Camaro/Firebird owners was to offer a V6 (particularly when mated to a slushbox). They're not really fast, and they scream "poser" to anyone who is into cars.

but i think im gonna get an eclipse, hopefully a 2g, if not a 1g but we'll see, not sure if id rather have awd or fwd...

It's not. The V6 is a dog.

AWD.

haha yeah, i got a 91 mazda b2200 5spd and a 2002 mitsu lancer....

lancer is goin to my dad in september, and im gonna be driving my truck. im probably gonna keep the truck since its BBValue is like $500...and its running really well for having 150k miles.

anyways, i think im gonna buy a 1g awd eclipse and make it a project car...or make the truck the project 'car'. hmm maybe ill do both...91 minitruck and 91 awd monster...haha

yeah i think im gonna go with a 1g dsm and get all buschur parts, and either keep my truck. so i can just choose which i feel like driving whenever truck for show, dsm for go ...unless i get a 2nd gen DSM...than i may get rid of the truck...cuz 2g's can look nice.

be forewarned, although i'm not sure if it's true for all 1g dsm's, i have a couple friends who have 1g dsms.. they are each 10 second cars and it wasn't all that expensive to get them to that level, but everything else falls apart on them.. gauges, dash, interior, horns, AC, rear view mirrors... etc.
