RX-7 or RX-8?

I am having a debate between my friend. He favors the RX-7, I favor the RX-8. What do you think?

RX-8 all the way......supposed to be one of the best handling cars out there at any price. It may be slower in a straight line but once you hit some turns the RX-8 should dominate. If you want a straight line monster then the RX-7 can be built up to do some INSANE speeds but if you want handling and to do some track days or Auto-X it's the RX-8 all the way. Plus the RX-8 is newer and better looking and a bit easier to live with on a daily basis.

The RX-7 is "true" sports car and the RX-8 is more GT. Not really a fair compairson. It also depends on which generation RX-7 you are talking about. The last generation was by far the best and would readily eat the RX-8's lunch.

well the RX7 came in a touring edition to that was set up for tracks. im sorry you can't compare the RX-7 to the RX-8....two different cars IMO. The RX-8 doesn't really hold up the RX name too well.....

RX7 turbo gets my vote. Just be sure you have extra money to fix it up. RX8 is one retarded car. Under power and it sucked at track. And the 2 rear doors really killed it.

Well, I stand corrected. I was just ratting on one guy for not doing fair comparisions (Evo vs. RX-8)and now you guys are saying this isn't a fair comparision. Wow, I honestly thought it was fair. Well, like I said, I stand corrected. I come back with another comparision later.

It fits in the RX name just fine. Early RX cars like the RX-3 and RX-4 were 4 passanger sporty sedans.

To compare the 8 to the 7 is no fair as the 8 was built to be more of a family sports car as the 7 is a full on sports car.

RX8 has higher POTENTIAL. All it needs is a turbo. Everything else is improved over the RX7.

I just don't like the 8's horsepower....Looks good.....I'll go with power. RX7tt gets my vote. And like was posted earlier these cars aren't for the same audience.

RX-7 all the way. I had to sell my Evo because of high payments and a few other things and the 7 is going to be my next car. The RX-7 completely blows the 8 away. I have driven both cars and I was extremely disappointed in the 8. The handling was okay but since I drove up to the dealership in an Evo I kind of based it off of the Evos handling, it wasn't really up to par. I think the RX-7 has 50/50 weight ratio too and doesn't handle too bad at all for being a 10 year old car. Just my oppinion.

I test drove that RX-8. I was like "ummmmmmm k". Very slow. Overpriced. Just looks fancy and doesnt get my vote. I actually had my eye on the RX-8, Evo, and 350Z. THe Evo just won my heart. But i'd go for the RX-7. Throw a single big **** turbo on there and it will smoke just about anything.
