good car around 30-35k for dragging?
whats a good car for dragging around 30-35 grand? friend was interested but i didn't want to recommend him awd cars (cuz they lose power on straightaways)...so what are some good cars out there? preferably jap manufactured since hes rice-rocket freak
1) Supra TT
2) 2003 Cobra
btw, AWD cars do lose a bit of power on straightaways in that there is more drivetrain loss, but the TRACTION you get coming out of the hole is MORE than enough to compenstate for that drivetrain loss in a quartermile race.

If he wants a japanese drag car... Supra is the best bet. RX7, 240SX with an RB swap, 350Z with a TT package (probably over 40k though), etc are all ok.
If he really wants to go fast, start with a Mustang Cobra and mod accordingly. Camaro/Firebird would be a decent start too, but not as fast out of the box.

for a 1/4 mile time, I would take a small block V-8 over anything out of japan any day of the week. Japanese cars are best for road courses, and don't pack as much bang for buck as american pig iron. With the amount of money I'd need to spend on my S13 to get it into the 12s or 11s, I could easily get a mustang GT running 10s
