Before I went for the MR, I almost got a Crossfire SRT-6, simply because I'm good friends with Todd up here at Aston Martin-Lotus, who was practically Hartmut's right-hand man at Renntech for many years. We had some very serious discussions as to what we were considering shoving into that beast, including the possibility of shoehorning in the 5.5, bored out to 6.3, which would fit if we went at it from below.
But the price... ick.

AMG price 80K, leather tan seats with NAV 20K, the look on people's faces when they see it PRICELESS.
Oh, I'm well aware of what AMG-drivelined cars can do.
I'm also aware of what Renntech beasts are capable of, having piloted a few. Remember, if AMG wasn't selected at Mercedes's inhouse tuner, it would've been Renntech instead.
The problem that happened with the Crossfire was getting the 5.5L, the work required, and making custom mounts and brackets. The price for the engine, transmission, and labor involved was around as much for my Evolution MR, plus the money for the Crossfire base car itself. In the end, the car would cost around as much as an E55 when you factor in custom wheels, suspension, and converting the interior to SLK materials.
However... target numbers were 600HP and about 520lb-ft. No one would see that thing coming.

Im sorry dude, but that AMG is not very attractive to me. It just look too old style. It looks like a biffed up old man...hahahah....
