Interested as well but this sounds like a blown head gasket which is not the cheapest or most fun to fix. Has a shop looked at this and provided any paperwork in the issue?

For the asking price of the car, considering the mods. This would be a steal if it’s only a blown head gasket.

Have to disagree. But I wish the seller and potential buyer the best.

Pretty sure on the fix

I’m a tech myself. It doesn’t use coolant and does smell of coolant coming out the exhaust. So I’m 95 percent sure it’s a ring issue. Only way to conform more would be to tear it down. Introduced air into the cylinder and heard it coming back out the oil cap. But it’s ok. I feel like the car is worth what I’m asking due to the mods and condition of the car.

Thank you! For those of us who may be on the fence, this helps as we try and calculate out: cost of the vehicle + cost of repairs = happy evo driver.

Whatever you think..yeah this is a steal. The evo ix is certainly on the rise that's not my bias opinion just a supply/demand thing. I personally know Afew contacts that would give 16k for this car tomorrow in order to turn quite a profit. This is actually one of the cheapest ix's I've seen lately without major problems.

This car is a steal for those who can work on their own engines. That is a lot of people here, so the seller is in the right place. I can see many fixing this quickly and selling it, but the issue is having car buying money and space available. It would probably sell for as much as $23,000 if the buyer can source oem BBS wheels and oem SE front lip.

With all those mods and 100k+ miles? I'm thinking "no".

Those are all really easy mods to reverse though and it is a 9 after all.

sorry to say, but this type of comment is the reason so many people are having bad experiences and why mitsu also gave up on the platform, as well as the extremely high markups. Were too hell bent on just owning this legendary car, oppose to owning a well working, reasonably reliable example. aside from mods, No way, is this a steal IF its only a head gasket issue. GLWS to OP nonetheless, hopefully its nothing too major for the buyer or seller. It is a beauty!!! wish it were bit closer.
