2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR ...
For Sale
ill bite lol.
I for one dont like being priced out of buying things i want. But if someone gave you 50k would you sell? I speak from frustration since we are on the topic. I have resisted listing my evo for sale because i still enjoy it, but the car i have been wanting to replace it with has gone up in value 5-8k. Am i kicking myself for not selling my evo sooner? Or should i just say, "those prices are rediculous" and wait... only for the prices to climb higher?

This is based on conversations I've had with sellers of these cars With the promise not to give out specific numbers.
I think half of it is the trend of bring a trailer and some people having more money than common sense, so paying for crap just for fun. I say this because somebody that I know, personally, sold a Miata for $4500 more than it was worth. Once he shipped the car and the buyer received it, the buyer sent him an email asking "what in the heck did I just buy? Tell me about this car. " The I literally had no idea what he bought, he just liked how it looked LOL
the other half, are probably people like me who are on the fence but would let the car go for ridiculous price. I have tens of thousands of dollars into this car, not including what labor would cost if I charged it, plus the literal Blood Sweat & Tears LOL
all that being said, if somebody came at me with $30,000-$50,000, I'm sure I would let it go.
all that being said, the Evos and GTR's that I've researched are actually selling for what I think are reasonable prices. Quite a bit less than what they're being listed at.
But, as they say "you don't get if you don't ask "
TLDR *ASKING* prices are out of hand. Actual Selling prices aren't so bad.
I am in the same situation as you: there's a specific car that I want and the prices keep going up. They are going up disproportionate to the value of my Evo. I am constantly on the fence: do I sell? do I wait? Will I regret it, again?
it's the same for my house. I suddenly have $175,000 in equity, but prices around me have also gone up LOL WTF? I want to sell, but then end paying more anyway

listing prices have gone way, way up. I have been doing research on Evos and R32 GTR's for the past 18 months or so. While the listing prices have gotten out of hand, with cash IN hand, sellers are bit more reasonable. You just have to get them in a private conversation and be ready to buy.

Gave me something to think about for sure.
Bump! Beautiful Evo! I just bought my last and final TB VIII from the original owner out of PA last summer and i dont think ill ever let this one go for what i paid. With what ive seen on BAT & Facebook, this thing is priced right where it should be. Anyone looking for an evo will see that this is a total gem and not some clapped out piece of crap! GLWS!
