Mix 106.5 is another infinity owned radio station. HFS had the strongest following in baltimore but had a hard time competing against DC 101 in the DC area market. I don't know if anyone has noticed but they've been slowly integrating more rock into mix 106.5. Its supposed to be like HFS light. I'll have to do some radio surfing today to see whats up.

Okay, I did some research and found this blurb which should explain alot. Sounds like its still up in the air.
99.1 To Become WZLL, WHFS Calls To 105.7? - 1/26 - In Wednesday's DC Post, Paul Farhi looks at the plans (first reported on DCRTV) to continue the HFStival this year despite the demise of alternative rock WHFS on 99.1. And the resurrection of the format on a part-time basis on Baltimore's Live 105.7, which "can't be heard clearly in Washington or its immediate suburbs." Plus, he tells us that Infinity is planning to rename Spanish "El Zol" on 99.1 WZLL. And possibly moving the WHFS calls to 105.7, now WXYV? Also, we learn that Infinity may use talker WJFK-FM, 106.7, to help promote the HFStival in light of 105.7's poor coverage in the DC area.....

What they said was true, on nights and weekends I dial into live 105.7 and bam, HFS. It rocks. Its like having your best friend die and then he possesses your dog. Like now youve got your best friend back as a talking dog. So HFS is kind of like that.
