although u get a suspension u can get a temporary and limited license for school work and religous events. U are limited to those 3 places only and have time limits. This is in Ga though, not sure about where u live. INsurance will Murder U.

^ actually pretty good advice. right the judge a letter, and the cop, say you are sorry repeatedly, and make up a story. i like my sister needed medicine a few posts back. every judge that i have had an encounter with seems to be willing to deal if you are polite, and respectful. in other words just dont be an a$$. not that you would, but you know.

Bring your valid license, and all the other paper work to court and show it to the ADA. Odds are he will let you plead to no driver's license on person. At least that's what I do when I get a driver under suspension case in front of me when a guy has gone out and got a valid license. It will save you a ton of money.

Just be polite and ask to do what I said above. Odds are he will take it. Trust me, we have bigger fish to fry.

Then DMV (Department of vehicle in Virginia) sent me a letter that saids, I had to complete an 8 hours of driving education by January 25th, 2005.
But I was busy last few months for sending applications, and taking SAT. ( I'm a senior in high school)
Anyway, I called a driving school a week before the deadline. But no one actually got my phone. So I couldn't complete the education before the deadline.
My license was suspended by then as it was mentioned on the letter. But also, it saids, I could still complete the education, and get my license reinstated. So I went to a driving school 2 days after my license was suspended, and completed the 8 hours. After the school, they gave me a certificate. When I got home, I started driving my car again. Guess what? I got pulled over by a police. Ok..
I didnt do anything bad, she just checked my license plate number and caught me.
She, right a way, told me my license was suspended. I explained to her everything I said above. But she anyway gave me a ticket that invited me to COURT, and she took my suspended license away. This was all happened on Friday. On Saturday, the next day, I went to DMV and got my drivable license back!
Ok... some of you already have an idea what I'm gonna ask...

I need to go to court, and I'm scared...
I want to know if I have to have an attorney.
Or can I just go by myself and explained the situation.

Please help me...I'm desperate.... I know this doesnt do anything with the original purpose for this forum..
But Please help..please...

Dude, honestly, youre gonna get a little slap on the wrist but thats it. You were just a little inexperienced with the law, diving, etc. Its not like you got caught drunk driving or anything like that. If you explain to the judge what happened I'm sure he/she wont go too hard on you. This kinda stuff happens ALL THE TIME. The judges are used to it. They will treat you like the five million other teenagers before you. As far as a lawyer goes, I would go talk with the ADA and see what the deal is. If you think youre gonna get shafted in court, get a lawyer. If the ADA seems like a reasonable, stand-up person, just roll with it. Also, if you get to court, and you dont think things will go well, you can always ask the court to come back later with proper representation. You have a lot of options.

Anyways, its prolly a good learning experience for you. Now you know to take driving and the courts a little more seriously.

so what? if he doesnt go crazy with the car what s the problem? u need to take ur head out of your *** buddy
idiotic remarks like this are totaly off topic, if u have anything to say to help the guy or comment about his situation just don t post.

Back on the subject i was in a similar situation as u are now, just go to court and explain what happend and the judge will let you go without any problems. I completed the the classes 1 week after the deadline, i just explained to the judge that they didn t have anymore available class before the deadline and he let me go without any problem. And having a lawyer with you will help too

good luck.

Just tell the truth. Make sure the judge knows that you are aware of what you did and that you have learned a lesson.

With or without a lawyer, be:

-contrite
-humble
-remorseful
-honest

If you have a bad attitude or get caught up some fairy tale, the judge will chew you up and spit you out.

Generally, a lawyer is a good idea if you can swing it. You'll almost always come out better with his advice. He'll probably know the judge well enough to know what'll work and what won't. If you don't have a pretty clean traffic record, I'd say it's pretty much mandatory.

I am 99.9% sure you do not need to go out and spend some $ to hire a lawyer. Because 1) the ADA will not likely want to try this thing due to his big *** docket 2) most ADA's are not A$$holes, so he will probably work with you. You have already got your license back which is the big deal, so he will likely just want to get you out of there with a small fine. And in the unlikely event he wants to be an ***, just ask to continue the trial at a later date (you will likely get one) and THEN go hire a lawyer.

I deal with this kinda stuff every week. It really is not that big of a deal (only because you already got your license ) so go in with a good attitude, try to be polite and everything will turn out ok. Most of us are not out to get you, unless you rob a bank or something, then thats your ***.
