I moved back to Maryland this weekend and today was the perfect summer day for driving. I left Gainesville, Florida and its boring, flat, total-grid roads to come enjoy the narrow, windy backroads of Maryland. Today was absolutely perfect. Low 80s, blue skies and a cool breeze with that sweet-earthy scent cruising the pavement through the woods. To top it all off I just put brand new tires on my car and love the way they grab the pavement. This place is awesome. I can't wipe the smile off my face.

Down south its more straight but i love the sharp corners and narrow MD roads.

Im in Miami South Beach, FL and I miss my home already!

 

Having as much fun today as I did in my OZ, I can't imagine what those same roads would be like in a Ralliart, or even better, and Evo. One day...

Anybody know of any meets here anytime soon, maybe in the White Marsh area? I want to meet the Mid-Atlantic EvoM crew!

 

Hey, glad to have you back! I went to UF for my first year of college, other than the wild parties, gainesville can't touch MD.

 

The college scene in Gainesville is, well, the college scene. Yeah its fun every now and then, but it gets frustrating making good friends, and then seeing them leave. Not to mention a college town is a poor representation of what the real world is like. To me, Maryland has it all... College Park (if you like), Fells Point, DC, Annapolis, the Bay, Deep Creek, and my favorite, great mountain biking trails everywhere. Don't even get me started on all the great crab recipes!

 

*sniff* DC and Maryland will always be home to me. Philly too to a lesser extent. I love the bay area too though, and if anywhere besides DC will ever feel like home to me, it's here.

Hrmm...I never thought I'd say this, but I actually miss rain! I wouldn't mind a rainy day or two just to shake things up. I'll never miss the summer humidity though

 

I believe that there is a Mega Meet in Woodbridge VA next Saturday. You should come, there never are enough Lancers that make it out. I want to get as many Lancers/Ralliarts/Evos as possible to come and have a good showing before the Sept meet they are having in MD.

Anyone else love the Beltway....*senses everyone ready to scream ARE YOU CRAZY?!*...really late at night/early in the morning when it's just about empty? No cops and no other cars with those great turns (for a highway near a city anyways) around Conneticut? Slower and tighter turns do have them beat generally, but sometimes it's fun to take some high speed ones too.

Yeah, i'm up in the Timonium/Towson area and I work in Columbia. Good to have more lancers in the area. We really need to do a meet soon in Whitemarsh. Course i'm leaving the country for a few weeks, but maybe in september.
