Mach V Track Day pics
We had a great time. It was sad to see a casualty in the form of the crashed Evo (driver and instructor thankfully unhurt!), but it did give the rest of us a reminder to leave some margin for error, and that probably kept us safer.
Thanks everyone for coming!

The car went off into the gravel or dirt on the outside of turn 10, then came back onto the track and shot across to the pit wall on the inside of the track, which is protected by lots of tires for that very reason. (He's not the first person to crash there, not by a long shot.) The car hit so hard the back end popped up into the air and the rear wheels were visible over the top of the four-foot wall. The airbags deployed.
The driver was shaken but unhurt according to the paramedics. The instructor sort of toppled over after getting out of the car, and they ended up taking him to the hospital just to be safe. I'm presuming he was okay, if a bit shaken up. The car hit on the passenger side.
The car was pretty tweaked. I'd say it's a write-off.
