got a great price quote on a ix

went to darcars mitsubishi in sliverspring, they offered to pay off my 03 (23900) and quoted me 29,188 for a ix minus ttl, but if i trade them my car i can transfer my tags over, what would you do. btw i have mods waiting to be installed but iam thinking of getting the ix instead. full 3" turboback, hallman, apillar gauges, turbosmart dp bov, then all i have to get is a tune from tt dynoflash. damn soo many choices.

If you can transfer your mods over to the IX, get them to pay 23.9 for your 03 (way higher than the trade-in value) and get a IX for 29k, then you should do it. That means you're going from an 03 to a 06 with only a 5k difference, which is absurdly good. You couldn't even sell the 03 for 23.9 to a private party, so you should take that deal immediately. The IX is far, FAR better than your 03.

Hard decision to make. Any problems with your 03?? Syncros/tranny and how many miles? if so then trade up. I have been think about doing the same with my 04.

Hard decision to make?

Hardly a decision to make! I'd do it just for the deal they're offering for trade in. Just make sure they don't pull any smarmy dealership BS (like changing their minds when you show up to finalize). I personally wouldn't want anything other than another MR, but a deals a deal. Imagine those mods on an '06. Do it and be happy.

I guess its a hard decision for me to make. I have a bunch of mods that I would have to take off and swap. Now intrest rates are higher I am not sure if I could keep my payments the same.

Yes that is a great trade in value I agree, and a good price on the IX.

yeah it is a hard decision to make, 03 has 22k black sunroof, no problems, stock clutch never been to the track so the clutch is alittle stiff. the ix is blue no ssl, but thats ok cause i hate leather and the sunroof... well less weight. but i have to wait alittle while longer since my parents are going to write me a check due to a light christmas. it hard to shop and maintain a bussiness(hair salon). so iam just waiting alittle longer

hey war, when i decide to get the ix. don't be surprised if you get a pm from me about mods. i want to mod in the right direction. and this time iam not going to get a intake, hopefully its the right decision. oh btw i have a turbosmart bov dp, i have it on my 03 and it stalls out and acts up, i know the reason (vta) so would a shop beable to tune it, if not it came with a block off plate. i think it would be best to block it off a recirculate it. or should i just sell. i want a tastfully done evo.. no ricey bs here.

Buy it now, it's the end of the year and you may not get that price in a few weeks. Jump on it

Yes, if I were you, I'd just sell that BOV right now and go back to the stocker. Then, when you get the IX, you won't need to worry about the BOV, because of the stock aluminum BOV.

Feel free to contact me for modding guidance on the IX. I have built some staged packages for the VIII and will be making one for the IX as soon as I found out which exhausts can be trusted to fit properly. As soon as Megan releases it's new TBE for the IX, that will be the standard exhaust. Btw, Al will be coming down to the DC area on Jan 21st to tune the DcEvo IXs, so if you can get one by then, you'll be able to get tuned in person (road tune or mail-in).

wait till 12/31 & then haggle them. also your DP might not fit the '05 & newer T/C's unless it's the upgraded Perrin unit...
