Any Ravens Fans Here...
not instigating any more than those that were talking smack before the game.
I really could've cared less about this game until I saw this thread. In no way am I a colts fan either. After the stunt the Mannings pulled with Eli on draft day, I hope none of them ever get a super bowl ring. In fact it would be sweet if SD wins just to rub it in their face.

yea i did lose my money on the ravens but i'm more upset that they didnt win the game
now both my teams are out of the playoffs (ravens and eagles)
i think our defense played extremely well and put us in the perfect opportunity to win that game. someone earlier said ray lewis blew that game
how? the tipped *****? he was only playing the ball and didnt even see mcalister or reed behind him. u cant fault him for that even though they both would have been picked off if he wasnt there. the ref blew the call on ed reed's int and lateral to mcalister and if only clayton had held on to that d@mn ball...oh well
how ironic mcnair was suppose to be the savior for us this year but doesnt step up when it counted the most. it was a great year though...

i can believe they lost, ive been saying it all season. theyve gotten extreamly lucky, had many "bounces" go their way. last night they finally didnt get that one "bounce" or anything else.
hands down to the ravens defense, held the colts in check all night. look back at my earlier posts and i said the ravens were going to play a cover 2 scheme, much like the chiefs did, and they did for the most part. i also said it was going to be very tough to get much pressure on manning if at all...and they ended up with 1 sack and a couple pressures. bad things the defense did was basically ray lewis giving up 2 ints (on the plus side, he was in position so no big "damn him" complaints i guess).
the refs did miss 2 calls, though the ed reed sideline call was extreamly close (and watching it from the titan tron, and the replays when i got home, im not so sure it would have been overturned had billick decided to challenge it). the holding call was an obvious ticky tacky, phantom call... but that happens (seahawks super bowl) in any game; you take the good calls with the bad. i personally think the refs let the players play the game and besides those 2 calls i dont think anything prevented the game from being won by either team.
o, did i mention how much of an offensive genuis brian billick is? o wait, like i said in my earlier posts the 17th ranked offense was going to have trouble moving the ball and if they couldnt score tds they would not win. and everyone was kind enough to remind me that the ravens couldnt score a td or 2 in the 2000 season and they won... id like to remind you that i was not sold on the ravens defense this year and said that no tds this year was not going to be possible to win...
mcnair was not the only reason the ravens lost, they just didnt execute.. plain and simple. they lost time of possesion, they lost the turnover battle, they lost the 3rd down conversion stat, they lost the sacks and pressure stat... they lost all over the field. to blame this all on mcnair is unspeakable. its not mcnairs fault the recievers cant hold onto the ball, its not his fault heap fumbles trying to make unneccesary yards, not his fault the defense couldnt get to manning all game, not his fault manning took a page out of mcnairs book and scrambled a few times and rolled out etc... (the 7 yard scamper was easily my favorite play of the game btw). not mcnairs fault that adams FG his the crossbar and bounced through (my 2nd favorite play, lol).
all in all, the ravens were outplayed, outcoached, and outexecuted all game in all facets of said game. i told you the bye was going to hurt them and it showed... big time. if they still had the offensive momentum without the bye im fairly certain it would have been a different game.
i also dont blame mcnair for his one interception at the 1 yard line either. he just plain didnt see the linebacker who was actually playing the spy. also doesnt help that the ravens offensive was extreamly predictable (all season!) and everyone knew it was either mcnair running, or heap in the endzone...
o yea, not to mention, mason is disappointed about his role in the offense and there are rumors he wants out, article on yahoo sports that AD is looking forward to testing free agency, and also rumors about jamal might go... going to be an interesting offseason with no money to spend....
Edit- the loss of bj sams really hurt the offense, big time. he was a big loss and it showed... also, on the drive where mcnair threw the int on the 1 yard line. that whole drive was jamal off the right side... they found something over there and then after 2 BIG runs they just gave up on it...
one last side note, thought it was interesting they handed out WHITE towels for the fans to wave around... last time i checked, maybe purple or black was a more appropriate color... o well, smart isnt exactly a ravens team point... (i didnt wave my flag around i threw it on the ground... if anyone cares i was in section 524... crowd was pretty loud all game, i was impressed.

The Ravens can't play in the rain. 3 out of 4 losses came in the rain. When we play in the rain and have QB named McBoler.
It's all good though, like the Skins fans say every single year.... "There's always next year"

dont u think most teams that win get a few "bounces" their way? look at the steelers last year for example or seattle last week. u act like no one ever gets a little lucky. and no, i dont agree that the ravens won because they got "extremely lucky".

He's seen Jamal park before the game and went to last nights game. Either he has PSL's or he spent some money to get a ticket. Either way, he's a Raven fan!

Thats true, I noticed that as well. I don't know why that is...
actually it wasnt really raining at the game..if you count the 1st 5 mins or so, other then that a little spit here and there towards the end, it was a very nice night actually. i went to the game, yes, but it was for 2 (honest) reasons. one, i thought it was going to be a hell of a game, and i wanted to see and here fan reactions and see it in person. two, i owed my friend ed a favor (he got me a hookup on a wii for xmas for my little brother and sister) so i took him, and hes a diehard ravens fan.
the reason i see jamal (cant) park is because i work in the city area and hes usually down there during the season at the clubs and whatnot.
let me say this again in case you havent figured it out... i have never NEVER rooted for the ravens, much less have i EVER been a fan of them. when i was at the game, i rooted for 1 player, and 1 player only. i did not cheer the outcome (though in my head i was hoping the colts would win), i did not cheer any teams. i went with my friend because i owed him a big favor, i sat with the fans and was discussing plays and penalties with them. funny side note, half of them didnt know to watch for the side judge for the mark of the footballs, and were waiting for the announcers to announce the down and yardage gained etc.
and once again, my team is not important in this discussion, and if you want to doubt my alligence to them, i fly to every home game, i have 2 psl's, and i wear the living hell out of my body doing sunday morning 7:30 am flights to sunday night 9:30 pm flights, then waking up monday morning to go to work.
and i am very educated about this game, i love it. i dvr games im interested in (yay for sunday ticket) and spend some of my free team watching said games like any teams does watching game film. geek i know. i also have a pretty good knowledge of the rulebook, and as sad as it sounds, i sit every year for how ever many hours the draft is, and watch BOTH days...
maybe my trashing of the ravens came off as sounding bitter, im sorry. i merely though (and i was right... mostly) that they were a tad over-rated and that people and press were crowning them before they even got a crown. hell, i can name half the players on the team, because i watch thier games along with my own. have i ever rooted for them? no. will i? no. is this team heading for cap hell in 08? yes. (the year of 08, not the season...as next season is the 07-08 season). like i said, the defense was not over rated, they did a hell of a job all year.
and i also thought the festivus maximus shirts that party city was printing up were mornic for 2 reasons... 1. they didnt even win a playoff game yet, and 2. they have AD on them, which makes them good for nothing now... they didnt make it, and hes not going to be on the team next year according to a report on yahoo news stating hes looking forward to trying FA. not to mention all the purple lights and field spray paint and everything. now dont get me wrong, yay for fans... but when they havent won anything (besides the afc north) why jump on the bandwagon? maybe if they had won this game and were going to the afc champsionship id say go ahead print 5 million shirts... but now all those beat indy shirts are worthless... until they face them in indy next year.
on a side note, boy are some fans at the game classless. the chanting the suck thing was pretty funny because it is the colts, but when fans started leaving the stadium early other fans starting throwing beer bottles at them (granted they are plastic..), not to mention my mom and dad and brother and sister almost got smacked with a glass bottle thrown from the parking lots near the pedestrian walkway thing... and yes they were in ravens purple in case you have to ask (dads a huge ravens nut)...
also my dad is swearing off any more playoff games... hes now 0-2 (he went when they faced the titans in 03) so he said he isnt going anymore, lol. so blame him for the loss!!!
and there is also no way in hell you arent going to tell me that baltimore isnt a bandwagon city. where were all the ravens jerseys and purple shirts last year? in the closet. where were the purple lights and banners and paint? not on store shelves. that is why i also hate half the so called fans in this city... they bandwagon everything. i have season tickets to the orioles and i go when i can (when im not working), but i have never bandwagon'd a team in my life. why are the orioles so empty evey game? because they suck? yea exactly, but what fan are you if you dont support your team every year no matter the record? im not saying anyone here is a bandwagon fan or a halfway fan, but i will say that most of you do have to agree... the only time this city gets excited for the ravens is when they win, or when they face a rival like pissburgh...
