man I should have run... just need to fix my BOV issue, im bogging and running sooooo rich, felt like a waste of money... but man i'm curious...

I think Altered will be using my car to make a 3" turbo back and maybe some other things... the AFC's and 3" Turbo Backs seem to be the way to go

Right now you need to splice into 12v power and ground and intercept the MAF and Crank wires.

I agree with waiting for the harness as they are already adding more features to the XEDE over the next few weeks. The way I look at it, there's not much splicing required and you can just pick up a new factory harness if you happen to need one for some reason (ie. warranty work, etc).

The reason I like the XEDE is that the feature list makes up for the price since you'd have to have a SAFC, AVCR, and ITC in order to come close to functionality. You'll still lack the laptop tuning, resolution, datalogging, ability to save maps, and ability to add features over time. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the XEDE should be able to handle larger injectors as well with some tweaking to the MAF settings.

Here's what the XEDE looks like out of the box:

I believe running xede is against stock class rules also. If you just change catback you should loose performance since ecu might not keep boost

Exede can be disabled by simply unplugging it from the ECU harness.

Loss of boost from cat-back install has not been verified by any dyno testing I am aware of. Have you seen any tests to the contrary that would substantiate your claim?

The boost will most likely stay the same but the timing and fuel was tuned for the T-back exhaust. By changing the system back to stock, the xede will have to be retuned to get the best results.

Hey Stinkapuss, did u install that boost controller? I thought your car was very impressive with the SAFC-2 (>270hp stock boost and all). How did the new settings affect your performance.

I haven't installed the mbc yet. I wanted to go to the track with what I have first than install the mbc. I'm hoping for 290's with the mbc and tuning. I have a Buscher t-back at home but I might not install it now. Performance wise I can't really tell a difference but the track will tell the true story. Get that turbo in on Sunday?

Those look like some nice Dyno results. Does anyone know how the curves you all got compare to what the factory claims??

How nice to get so many EVO VIII's in one place.

Did everyone get dyno'd in 3rd gear? Maybe the stock Yellow Evo that had 238awhp had a 4th gear pull. I know with my car in 4th gear I hit 1.4 bar with stock boost control.

Yeah, the install went really well on Sunday, did it in between rain showers. It is a different car now, it's very similar to how my turbo interga operated (with much less lag though). The previous TD04 turbo ran out of steam above 5000 rpm, this VF30 pull from 3000 all the way to 7000 without missing a beat. I have my max boost set to 14 psi (which is obtained by ~3200 rpm) and I am thinking about taking it for a dyno run soon.

Retuning may be necessary for absolute optimal performance, but the current setup feels very strong from the seat-of-the-pants dyno even though the XEDE was tunded for the DP and Hi-Flo Cat.

The factory Evolution exhaust flows good for a factory unit. But,there is always room for improvement. Dyno testing has shown us that our axel back exhaust system makes the same hp as removing the factory cat-back and running no exhaust at all. So, for those of you that will be running the the factory turbo there is no need to purchase a cat-back system. When upgrading to a large turbo a 3 inch exhaust will be needed. Also during testing removing the cat and replacing it with an off-road pipe will make more hp but the amount of boost will drop (about two psi) and same goes for the exhaust too. So, to make that hp you will need a boost controller to turn the boost up.
Haven't tried it myself but that is what the guys at pruven found out.

Hope this helps Sorry i didn't read it clearly. Perhaps just a muffler wouldn't do much in decreaseing boost
