Block Head
Atlast all the pieces are ready. Assembley will start Monday if not sooner. Plan is to get it back mid next week so I can drive it to work for a couple days for break in then tune. Last couple pic's don't really show what I was trying to get as well as I would have liked but there is a hint there if you look closely.

DTM built 2.0
o- ringed
20% block fill
sleeved
custom pistons
DTM ported head
ferrera 1mm oversize valves
ferrera springs and retainers
brass guides
either DTM 300 cams or Tomei 270's will be trying both to see what it likes better. lift or duration.

What does "block fill" mean? I'm assuming it means oil or coolant passages in the block are "filled in" to fortify the block?
Why sleeve an iron block?
Won't AL rods require replacing more frequently? I thought they weren't intended for durability (this is assuming you'll be using this as a DD on top of racing duties).

1) yep. Had the block filled 20% last year. At the time I was running 35r. No cooling issues and I wasn't even using a fan. Well only the one for the ac.
2) Machine shop saw something they thought might have been a flaw. I didn't want to take any chances.
3) You're right, but it's not my dd. Got a prius for that. I don't drive the car very much. Bought new in 04 and has like 22k.
I'm going to use this motor for drag racing this year then over the winter get another for street and road course for next year. Just have to swap back and forth when I want to go big at the drag strip.
WOW Joe, that's the same head Nick said was going in my Car...Proport S/N 624, I am sure he'll have another one just like it for me since we are still waiting on my custom pistons...Setup looks really good!
