New Meet Spot in md/dc/va area?

Was wondering if people would entertain the thought of a new meet in Annapolis. A huge towncenter has been built near the mall (where the two 14 story condo buildings are now) which have multiple 3-4 story parking garages that mostly go unused on weekday evenings. I'm sure eventually it will get used up more and more when they finish building all of the shops and the condos start getting populated, but for right now (and presumably many months to come), the parking garages are ghost towns. This would make for a pretty decent meeting spot...as its out of the way, doesn't bother anybody, and we're not posted up in front of any stores that would give anybody real cause for complaining. Obviously common sense rules would still apply, but other than that it seems like we should be left in peace. I know parking garage meets were fairly successful in va, and there's probably enough structure to not only provide overhead cover, but also block cross winds, which is usually make winter time meets so painful.

I figure we could try it a few times and if it works out, it can be a regular spot.

So, any idea of what days/nights we could try this if anybody is willing?

But Wed nights seemed like the best time when evoangel did them.

I'm willing to come out. You might want to post the day and time. I open for whatever. Then see if anyone shows up.

I'm getting alot of indication that other people would rather try this out on a wednesday night as well. I'm reluctant to try this wednesday with thanksgiving holiday and all, so I'm thinking we should try for next Wednesday (dec. 3rd)? I'm torn between 8 pm or 9pm since i don't know which would be more convenient yet still leave time to stay out without getting too ridiculous. I think there's like 3 parking garage including the built in target garage, I want to scope out all 3 and see which one would be best around that time. Target would seem like it would be the warmest, but also the most heavily used, and I don't want to have the meet start too late since it is in the middle of the work week, but something can be worked out.

As far as an address I'll try to fish up a physical addy that can be used with google maps or something, If not i'll just take a screen shot and list directions.

When we did the Annapolis meets almost 2 years ago we all started meeting up around 830-9ish.

so i guess let's try for this wednesday around 9 at the target parking garage. If the target parking lot is still high traffic and cumbersome, we'll try to get into one of the other garages.

The closest entry into the 'towne center' is from the forest drive side. Going to try to get some directions up for those who don't know where it is.

Since this is the first time, and I'm trying to be wary of getting it broken up before it even starts, I only posted on the two other forums that I frequent, mdstreetscene and supraforums. Obviously there will be lurkers that will see the meet, but other than that, hopefully this will keep some of the ricer crap out. If this meet goes well a few times, I will start posting on other forums to slowly mature the meet. I don't want it to grow to big too fast, as it may fail too early if that were the case.

Which target parking garage are we talking about here?

i believe target only has one garage...it's actually part of the target building...the other two 'outside' garages are presumably for residents. We'll try those if the target garage doesn't work out.

I scoped out the parkin garages at about 8:15 or so last night....no real security in sight, although i'm sure they do their rounds. Anyhow, the target parking lot 2nd floor was mostly empty. The far side had enough empty spots to *comfortably* accomodate about 25-30 cars and it's seperated by the ramp from the other side which had the most customer activity.

I then checked out the regular parking garage right across the street. Unlimited parking...although it'll block wind, it still has openings so it won't be as warm as the target parking garage. However, i foresee photo opps at the top of that garage because one side of it is 50 feet from the condo tower. Anyhow, gonna start the meet at target and probably migrate to the other parking garage...especially if someone has a bad *** camera and others want to photoshoot their ****. I have a bad *** camera but the owner sucks ***, my **** looks like cell phone pics until I can learn how to use the ****.

the listed address is 2505 riva road, annapolis, md. Although that's slightly off on google maps....you'll be able to figure it out visually from there, you can't get within a mile of this place without knowing where to go.

What kind of feedback have you gotten from the other forums that you posted on?

I know a couple people that will probably come out tomorrow including myself.
