the car was sitting in my drive way for couple days due to dmv closing for the holidays.. can't wait to get the car registered tomorrow.
One concern i have is the aftermarket exhaust. it has monster sports full titanium exhaust and its quite loud. How do you guys get away with having loud exhausts?
Also, will i be able to pass the inspection?
any help is appreciated!

 

im a newbie ive been a huge mitsubishi fan since i was a kid and i just bought a brand new evo 8 im only 19 so yea the car cost me an arm and a leg but i dont care its worth it.i just came back from deployment and im looking forward to cruising the va highways

 

Richmond doesn't have an emissions inspection does it (?), so you should be alright there. As far as a normal vehicle inspection, I don't see why it wouldn't pass. If the loudness is too much for you, get a quieter performance exhaust like Cobb's.

 

No, they don't have smog test down here. I just heard some people talking about failing the inspection because of an aftermarket. Maybe some places are just picky.
I do plan to put my exhaust on the market and trade for a quieter exhaust but I don't have enough post counts to post in fs section since Im new here...
Anyways,, is there any evo meets in richmond area? I would love to meet other evoers!!

 

Not quite the richmond area, but we will be at all aspects in chesapeake next saturday if you want to swing by. Always nice to meet fellow evo owners

 

hey man i'm not to far from richmond, Midlothian area, anyways you can't fail inspection for having an aftermarket exhaust, the only way they can fail you if you are running without a cat.

 

Thats the thing, i don't have a cat.. haha.. it has a tp on it.. i do plan to purchase a hfc in the future though.
What are some good hfc's and some websites I can order them from??

 

yeah they will fail you for not having a cat, i'm running with no cat, i have no problem passing inspection at all , you can try checking out ets or ams website both are really good. yeah if that's the only thing you know that fail for inspection i might be able to help you out.

 

Thinking about heading down to Richmond Sunday to see if I can find the city's best burger. Anyone want to join? Any suggestions on places? I hear the Belvidere at Broad is good. Might be the dinner pick, but gotta find a lunch pick to compare it to as well!

 

id be down just a 2 hr drive isnt fun.
