Ok i have a friend that has an EVO8 with just intake full exhaust, boost and a tune.. Anyway him and i battle back and forth over the phone about the qtr mile and me running an evo with the same qtrmile performance as i do. So since he lives in texas and i live in MD, he wants to see what my car can do with an EVO that is in the mid 12s. So i would like to know who is interested in making this happen just to see how i stack up... here is my time slip when i was at the IMPORTS vs DOMESTIC a couple of weeks ago... I have not taken the car to the track in about 2 year and i was only able to run one time that day...

Better keep this on the track or thread will be deleted. My evo X, which is slow as *****, has just an exhaust and base flash. I went 12.8. If I didnt have a crap clutch I could be close to a 12.6. However, a IX with very... VERY... minimal bolt ons would smoke your 12.6. My old IX had exhaust, air filter, boost controller, fuel pump, and a tune and went 12.2..

Well i dont really care what the car has on it all i want is for it be to be a 12.4-12.7 sec. car. And as for the time that you see that was only 1 run.. i am going to capital raceway hopefully if they are not closed on sunday and see if i can best that time which i really think i will... maybe you can meet me there and see what you got. I am not trying to start a war i just have never ran an evo before... or any other AWD car for that matter..

 

In my opinion it is going to be a close race. An Evo VIII with those mods could easily run the time and MPH you posted up.

I don't know what my car will do at the track but I plan on coming home in the spring to line up with him at Capital Raceway.

When I was at 274whp/280wtq (no meth), I went 13.0 @ 105mph in LA.

With the horsepower that I'm putting down now (added meth only and increased boost), I'm not sure what I'd do but I know I'd beat him.. LOL!

Your dissapointed that we cant come up with a 12 second car? There are about 10 cars in here (not including me ) that run 10s or 11s. Im sure they would love to run him at the track but I dont think he wants that. Sorry the cars that are willing to race are fast...

Well this post was not to pick on evos as you can see he has an evo and insted of book racing he wanted me to actually run one with the similar mods. Which doesn't really define weather or not i would beat HIM or not.

I told him that i when he ran a 13.0 with his 274 he should have been doing a 12.7 then. Hell when i had 265 i did a 13.2 and my car is about 300 lbs heavier!! my car is untuned but that is is about to change soon. As for the MPH it would have been faster had i gone a couple more times.

There is a dyno day at ISP in maryland this weekend and there will be a few evos there. So maybe i can work something out with one of them. Also i will be going to capitol raceway one sunday to see if i can get into the 11's. Glad this didn't turn into a flame war...
