Where are all the EVOs?
Just moved to Arlington, VA, just wanting to get a feel for the EVO crowd here. Just moved from WA state and working with English Racing for a while there I got to meet alot of cool people. Give me a shout out if you're around the afea , it would be cool to meet some other enthusiasts.

Zombie,
Been working on this project with English Racing and Buschur for a while now, my intent is to get a more GTResk performance out of the car and not have to worry about only get such a limited life out of a race clutch. Its all in the dyno section if you're curious. Plus 61mph in first, 87 n second, 153 in third and a theoretical 213 MPH in fourth entised me as well.

Which trans does the RS come with from the factory? 5spd or 6? Interesting idea, definitely different. PERSONALLY I would have just done a shep/ppg build on the 5spd but that's just me. Bet she's stupid quick off the line down the 1320.
I'm not trying to bust your *****, just discussing.
Hell we can't even figure out how to TUNE my trans (SST)...4th model year for the SST and we still don't really KNOW what it's capable of or where it's weak. Heat we can more or less eliminate, but that's a bandaid to an invisible "problem".

No worries man, your not busting my *****, it is just more practical for a ct9a evo to go for the auto if big power and constant abuse is put to the trans. Sheps boxes are good but not bullet proof for constant street and track abuse
We wish there was a good DC manual option out there for the 8s and 9s but even then they will fail our be sograbby that street use is almost a burden. Your trans is good for about 400 wheel 380 tq, that power and above will roast the clutches very quickly. Even if better clutches become available than what are aftwrmarket right now then the next thing to wear out will be the gears themselves. The worst thing about evos is the tq splits that it has with the transversely mounted engine, but it works. By the way you made a good choice with the mr , I'm partial to the ct9a chasis but if I had a 10 it would be a MR. Its the only time the MR has been worth the extra cash.

I don't have the MR, I have the SE. Best parts of the MR without the frills (the SE has the MR SST trans, two piece front rotors, MR Bilstein struts/Eibach springs and the GSR exterior/wheels).
It's the closest the X has to the RS...except we still weigh a crapload. My particular car weights 3620 at full street weight without me in it.I'm also partial to the CT9A but when I was looking for one I couldn't find an unmolested one. Blows my mind to see what they are capable of...things we can only dream of.
